She loved Lily, adored her, but when the other woman was weeks away from giving birth she had a tendancy to turn into a raving, hormonal, devil-woman. When Shay couldn't take it anymore she would escape to her favorite club and dance herself into oblivion. Most nights she would drag one of her friends along to keep an eye on her, but tonight none of them had been available to go with her. Tonight she was drinking and dancing alone.
At least she had expected to be drinking and dancing alone. Two hours into her self imposed "therapy session" a very nice looking man started dancing near her. After a couple dances, when she went back to the bar for another drink, he followed her and slipped the bartender money for her drink before she could fish the money out of her pocket herself. Normally she would have refused such an action but he insisted and she was well on her way to tipsy and just really didn't want offend him. Not to mention, he was anything but an angry, hormonal, pregnant woman.
The drinking led to more dancing and the dancing led to more drinking and before she knew it Shay was quite drunk and making out with the man in the back seat of a taxi. She presumed it was taking her home, but in all honesty she couldn't remember if either she or the man had even spoken to the cabby to tell him where to go. When the cab pulled up to a building that she didn't recognize, Shay pulled away from the man and eyed him warily. She had an inkling of where they had wound up but she asked anyway, "Where are we?"
The man leaned into her again, nipping at her lower lip. When he did a wave, of something she'd barely registered before, washed over her and she felt herself relax back into him and the kiss that followed on the heels of his nip. When he finally pulled away and answered her question, his voice was both silky and rough with passion, "We were having such a good time at the club that I thought we would want to continue our good time somewhere a little more private. We do want to keeping having a good time right?"
Shay purred lightly in agreement before answering, "We definitely want to keep having a good time." After that the cabbie grumbled something at them about getting a room so the pair scrambled out of the cab and ran for the apartment building.
From that point on Shay was in a bit of a haze. Her own hormones were in overdrive and all she could really think about was getting the man she was kissing and groping out of his clothes. She had already figured out that the wave of whatever had washed over her out in the cab was magic of some sort but she just didn't have any will to fight it. Maybe if she'd had stronger morals like her sister Livvie maybe she would have been able to try. As it was Shay, and not Livvie, she was lost in the moment and happily so.
When their clothes finally started to come off, Shay oggled the four silver armbands the man sported on his well muscled arms. The two at the wrists were nice but they weren't the ones surrounded by whatever magic it was that had washed over her earlier, those were the ones on his biceps. As soon as she realized that, something clicked in Shay's mind and she finally knew what this man was even if he was still a total stranger.
He was an Incubus. A type of Custos her mother had warned her about (even though she had a friend who was an incubus). Shay was fairly certain the warning had stemmed from some maternal need of Saiyuri's to protect her baby girl's innocence but as that had been lost long ago, if not necessarily to a man, Shay wasn't one bit worried about the state of her innocence.
Before she realized she was doing it, Shay's fingers were lightly tracing along the bands on his biceps. Doing that sent shivers through her body as his power seemed to be concentrated in those two simple pieces of metal and simply touching them gave the power a way to escape, even if only in small bits. After studying them for only a few moments, Shay came to the conclusion that the bands were too tight to slide off his arms very easily but as she wanted to see his wings and was pretty sure the bands were keeping them hidden, she set her nimble fingers to work on finding latches that she knew had to be there. After all, all incubi and succubi had a way to remove their restricters for the rare occaisons that their dieties allowed them to do so.
It only took Shay a moment before she felt a soft click under the fingers of her left hand and she couldn't help but smile. Finding the same spot with her right hand didn't take any effort at all and in only a moment she felt another soft click beneath her fingers. Once both armbands were loose, Shay's smile turned wicked and she baited the incubus, "I'll show you my wings if you show me yours."

He'd been blindingly drunk the night before. Then again, he'd been blindingly drunk every night for the past three weeks. He'd moved out to the east to test himself. To see if he could survive without Lia and Talbot. Of late, it seemed to him that he was just sitting on the outside of the two. Like he was a wandering comet occasionally pulled into their orbit.
So far, his little experiment was failing miserably. Afterall he'd be blindingly drunk every night for three weeks. Of course, that had it perks.
Like last night's saucy little minx. She'd found the trick to his arm bands and gotten them off and well, that had called off all the bets.
Cian stretched out and rolled from his bed. He felt around blindly for his armbands. Once he found them, Cian slapped them on before turning to face the saucy little minx. Except for the fact that Saucy Little Minx was Saiyuri's Little Girl. Cian hit the ceiling before scuttling into a corner. "Oh High Holy Hell, I am so dead!"

Her body ached in the best way possible. It had been a -very- long time since she'd been quite that acrobatic in the bedroom but that probably had something to do with the fact that both partners had been maneuvering around wings for at least part of the evening. Despite the fact that her body ached all over, that wasn't what was waking her from her sleep. It was her stomach. Her stomach was always the first organ in her body to wake up and Shay knew, especially after the last night's activities, that she needed to feed it quickly or she'd start to get all woozy.
Unfortunately it wasn't the smell of coffee, or bacon cooking, or anything else pleasant she finally awoke to. No, instead it was her bed partner from the night before screeching something about being dead. Fighting off a bit of a hangover-induced headache, Shay put the heel of her hand to her temple and rolled over to see what the hell was the matter with him.
Her eyes were still a bit fuzzy with sleep so it took her a moment to focus on the man, but even with fuzzy morning eyes she could tell he was looking at her like she was a three-headed Custos dog that wanted to eat him for breakfast. "What is wrong with you," she asked finally, tired of being looked at like she was going to kill him.
Then her eyesight came into focus and she could see just why he was looking at her the way he was. She knew him, knew him well. Her mother knew him even better. They were so incredibly beyond dead. "Fuck," Shay stated simply then pulled the blankets up around her still naked self. The hand that had been pressed to her temple now slid to cover her eyes and she muttered something about needing her clothes and needing to get home.

Cian threw clothing at Shay with one hand covering his eyes. "What the hell were you thinking! Don't you have a pregnant girlfriend or something? Christ, your mother is going to kill me if she finds out about this. Go away, Shay, go far away and never speak of this."
***
The pregnant girl friend was currently contemplating which muffin to have for breakfast. Blueberry or Chocolate currently seemed like a very difficult choice. Of course, she could have both and satisfy that urge.
Given that the rest of the horde was still sleeping, Lily opened both packages and inhaled the lovely muffin smell. When the front door opened and Shay walked in, Lily smiled. "Good Night?"

Despite the incredibly awkward, and probably dangerous if her mother found out, situation they found themselves in Cian's words hurt Shay's feelings. She wanted to yell at him for being such an ass but she knew it wouldn't do any good. Plus she just really needed to get home. She was surprised that Lily wasn't calling her asking where the hell she'd gotten to, but secretly she was grateful too. Maybe it meant that the other woman wasn't awake yet and she cold still slip into bed, or onto the couch, unnoticed.
Once Cian tossed her clothes at her and left the room, Shay hurried to get dressed. She only paused in her rush long enough to check her cell phone and make sure that indeed Lily hadn't called her. When the screen indicated no new calls, Shay sighed with relief and shoved the sleek piece of technology into her back pocket.
Finding a mirror in the incubus' bedroom, Shay did a quick once over of herself. She ran her fingers through her hair until the long black curls fell in some semblance of normalcy. Once she was satisfied, Shay left Cian's bedroom and found him pacing like a frightened cat in the livingroom. "Get a grip Cian, I don't want to tell my mother any more than you want her to know about this. As for my pregnant girlfriend, she knows I go out dancing, and often drinking, to blow off steam when her hormones go all psychotic on me. That part of my evening would have been normal, it was the getting drinks bought for me and getting seduced by a drunk incubus that she may kill me for." Then to herself she muttered, "I am -never- going out on my own again!" and turned to walk out of Cians apartment.
*****
The entire cab ride home Shay had been shaking. She was just absolutely sure that when she told Lily (and she swore she would) that the vampire would kill her. Or at the very least go on a hormonal rampage and kick her out of the house. When the yellow car pulled up in front of the correct building Shay's shaking just got worse. She paid the man and got out of his car very slowly, she was dreading the elevator ride up to their apartment.
Sure, having an apartent on the top floor of a nice apartment building was nice. It had great views and they didn't have to listen to people tromping around overhead. It did have one downfall though, when you did something bad the elevator ride was just that much longer and you had more time to dread the coming reaction.
By the time Shay reached their apartment and walked in the front door she was a mess, her nerves were raw and she was still shaking. When Lily asked if she'd had a good night the younger woman actually squeaked and then in a panic blurted out in a rush, "I'm sorry Lily, I didn't mean to! He was drunk and he got me drunk and he was an incubus and of course my damn mother just -had- to teach me about their damn restrictors and you know me I -had- to take them off and... and.... Fuck, I'm sorry..." It took all of Shay's willpower not to burst into tears but the damn hang-over headache wasn't helping matters at all and unnoticed to Shay, a couple of wet drops slid down her cheek as she stared at Lily, her eyes begging for forgiveness.

Lily blinked at Shay, chocolate muffin hanging from her hand. "So, you, being drunk, not only slept with an incubus but took the restrictors off?" She calmly placed the muffin on the counter, dusted off her hands. She leaned against the slate top and grinned. "How was it?" she asked with a grin.
Most women would be furious, she thought, but she didn't think of their situation as typical. For example, she was currently pregnant with Shay's half brother's twins. She could only laugh as Shay gaped at her. "Incubus, Shay, I don't think you had much a choice when he saw you."

Shay just gaped at her pregnant girlfriend. Had she honestly just asked how the sex had been?! Was this a cover for her true homicidal feelings? Or was she going to hunt down the incubus later and kill him, or possibily have her own way with him? Lily had been so unpredictable this pregnancy that Shay just wasn't sure what to think.
Feeling like her head was going to implode, Shay held up a finger and walked over to the cabinet they kept their medicines in and rummaged around for the advil. Then, after she'd poured out 4 of them, she reached into the fridge for a bottle of water that they always kept stocked in the fridge.
As soon as the anti-hangover advil was downed, Shay screwed the lid back on the water bottle and stared at Lily for a moment longer before cautiously answering. "Considering I'd never slept with a man before I've got nothing to compare it to in that respect, but for what it was it was damn good. Wings make things very interesting...." After that, Shay once again watched Lily carefully, waiting for any sign of an explosion. If the other woman showed any signs of rising temper, Shay was ready to get out of her way in an instant.

Lily ripped apart the chocolate muffin into bite sized pieces while she studied Shay. "You're shaking in your boots, aren't you? I'm not gonna kill you, Shay, I don't have that much energy."
Lily yawned while tearing up the blueberry muffin. "Besides, it was a guy. I don't have anything to worry about. It was the nifty incubus powers that caught your attention. Now if it had been a woman, and not a succubus, we'd have to talk."
Lily took her plate of muffin bits, kissed Shay's cheek and waddled over to the couch. "If you're feeling guilty, you can come over her and give me a backrub. Why did you and Seb have to be twins? I'm so kicking your father the next time I see him."
***
Cian rested his forehead against his thirdhand kitchen table. This wasn't working. Everything reminded him of Lia and Tale.
Shay reminded him of Saiyuri, which reminded him of home, which reminded him of the two. They'd entwined themselves into the very fabric of his soul and he couldn't unweave them.
He did regret his harsh words to Shay but she hadn't helped the problem. Not to mention the imagine of what Saiyuri had threatened to do with him if he touched a single one of her babies was burned into his brain.
Whining, Cian covered his head with his arms and tried to forget.

Before the brood woke up, Shay managed to give Lily more than just a backrub. She'd also massaged her legs feet and hands and was working on giving both of their lips a healthy workout when the first toddler immerged from her bedroom. Not knowing if Lily would even be receptive to a make-out session later Shay sighed softly then scrambled off the couch to go swoop up their daughter and smother her in kisses. "Mornin sweetheart, what do you want for breakfast?" Knowing that this particular child had rather odd tastes in food Shay didn't bat an eye when she answered, "Peanut butter pizza!" Instead she just asked, "Would you want any jelly or marshmellows on it?" The little girl had to think for a moment but finally shook her head "no".
Swinging the little girl onto her back and telling her to hang on, Shay quickly went to work at making breakfast. She pulled the flour tortillas out of the breadbox, the peanut butter out of the pantry and a plate from the cupboard. Dropping a tortilla onto the plate Shay quickly spread a layer of peanut butter on it then folded it in half and cut it into four "pizza" slices. Depositting the little girl on a stool at the breakfast bar, and the plate in front of her, Shay then went back over to Lily and snuggled in to enjoy the last few moments of peace they would have all day. "I love you."

Lia had given him time but it had been weeks since he'd left and they hadn't heard a damn thing from him. She wasn't sure why he left exactly but she had a funny feeling it had to do with her and Talbot. Finally, after him not answering or returning her calls for weeks on end, Lia had decided she needed to go talk to Cian. He couldn't very well ignore her if she was standing in front of him now could he?
Luckily, shortly after moving to the east coast Cian had written them a real letter and so she was armed with his address when she got to the city he lived in via the gates connecting earth to hell. It didn't take her very long to find his apartment and once she did she debated just walking in but decided to just ring the bell obnoxiously until he answered.

He honestly tried to ignore the door. He could smell Lia on the otherside. He knew that if he didn't answer, she'd just barge in. Counting on that, Cian remained slumped over on the kitchen table. Sure enough, when he didn't open the door, Lia opened it for herself. He scowled as she packed her lock-picking tools. Once she had her say, Cian had his.
"Why do you think I left, Lia? I can't stand it anymore. I can't stand to be the convinent body when you and Talbot want to get kinky anymore. The two of you have managed to entwine yourselves into my soul and I can't get out. I'm as silly as a mortal woman who becomes addicted to a Incubus."
When Lia said nothing, just stared at him, Cian snarled and pushed away from the table. He hurried into his bedroom and flopped onto the bed. He was acting like a silly mortal teenager, that's what he was doing. A silly mortal teenager with a crush. He heard Lia when she came into the room and he just knew she was going to try to fish all the details out of him. Instead, he just blurted them out.
"I love you, Lia. I love you and Talbot but neither one of you love me like that. I'm the added on third wheel who's good for an occasional romp in the bed but not good enough to warrent his own space in your home," He always when home to his own place afterwards. Always.
"I can't be around you or Talbot right now. I'm trying to get you out of my system so I can return to be a normal Incubus. Or, if that doesn't work for you and Tale, you two need to figure out if you want me to be part of you. A Triad instead of a couple plus the third wheel."
After Lia had left, somewhat shellshocked, Cian considered his options. He could stay and wait to be hurt because he was almost sure that would be outcome of this or he could run.
He ran straight to Eros and curled into the comforting warmth of the god's body. He spilled the whole story as Eros petted his youngest Incubus and smoothed out the ruffles. Cian was still so young, Eros thought, so young and still very impressionable. It really wasn't any wonder that the boy ended up this way. He was involved with a two beings who bordered on ancient and had very strong personalites. Two beings who'd seemed to had forgotten about Cian's feelings.
After having the incubus fed and bathed, Eros put the young Custos to sleep. Let him sleep, Eros thought, while the influence of Lilianna and Talbot seeped from his system. Once Eros was sure the incubus slept soundly, he hunted down the goddess that Lilianna served. Once found he told Eris everything.

She didn't go home after she left Cian's new apartment. How could she? Sure she needed to talk to Talbot about everything that Cian had said, but she needed to get her own feelings straight in her own mind first. There was no way she was letting Talbot out of her life, not after the thousands of years it took to find him. But at the same time, she didn't want Cian to dissappear from her life either. She'd never really considered how their current lifestyle might be affecting the much younger incubus, she had always just assumed that he didn't want the commitment she and Talbot shared and that was why he left after the three of them were together. It had never crossed her mind that he thought of himself as the third wheel that came over for a romp and then went home. How could she have been so blind?
After a couple hours she was pretty sure she had her feelings straight so she made a call home to Talbot. "You need to come out here, we need to talk about Cian." When he asked why she couldn't just come home for them to talk, or why they couldn't just talk on the phone Lia answered, "We may need to talk to Cian together and that'll be easier if you're already here." When he finally agreed to come, Lia hung up the phone and waited. She was sitting a short distance away from the gate that would bring Talbot from Hell onto Earth and she would know the minute her lover arrived.
*****
Olympus was a cozy place to live, even for the goddess of chaos, and while she tried to pay close attention to all of her followers, there were times where Eris just felt the need to leave them all to their own devices. She was currently in one of those phases and so had no inkling of what had been going on with her surrogate daughter Lilianna and her two incubi lovers. It was only when Eros came to her and informed her of the situation did Eris even know that the trio had been separated by Cian leaving.
After Eros' tale, Eris asked, "And what exactly am I supposed to do about this? Chaos seems to be well underway here and I won't actively stop it from happening, not even to one so close to my heart as my Lilianna." Just talking about her almost daughter brought back many fond memories, among them was the memory of just how Lia had met Talbot and Cian and a small smirk turned up one corner of her mouth.

Talbot had been trying to paint out some of his worries when he got the call from Lia. He was hoping she would just come home and they'd talk about when their friend was doing and when might be bothering him, but it appeared to be far more serious than he had anticipated. Once off the phone with his lover he did a quick wash up, threw together a few things to keep him for a few days and rushed to the nearest gate.
When Cian had left weeks ago Tale had been a little surprised, but when he had stopped responding to any kind of communication he had gotten worried. He knew his old friend enough not to argue when Lia insisted on going out to see him. Talbot had wanted to take the journey with her, but he thought it might do more harm than good if it was the two of them Cian was upset at.
As Tale stepped out of the gate on the east coast he took a moment to look around for Lia. He still had a few specks of paint he had missed it his rush and looked a little disheveled, but he still smiled as he spotted his lover. He moved over to her, still rushing just a bit. "What's going on? Is Cian okay?"

When Talbot arrived through the gate, Lia smiled at him. Despite the worry she felt, and the worry clear in Talbot's eyes, she couldn't help but smile at him. Once he reached her, she couldn't help but pick the couple flecks of paint out of his hair as she answered him, "Physically Cian is fine, but emotionally we've hurt him very badly." She continued to tell Talbot everything that Cian had told her, the part where he'd said he loved both of them, how he felt like a third wheel, and how he wanted them to either leave him alone or let them become a triad.
Not wanting to influence Talbot's thoughts or feelings on the situation she didn't tell him the decision she had already made (if he'd agree to it of course). Instead she waited patiently to let him process everything she had just told him.
While she waited for her lover to think things through, Lia's mind wandered. It wandered to Olympus where there was likely a goddess getting quite a bit of entertainment out of her current situation. She knew that Eris would comfort her if this didn't go the way she hoped, she also knew that she would celebrate with her if it did. Just because the goddess revelled in chaos didn't mean that she had no other feelings. It was because of those other feelings, in fact, that had steered Eris in the direction of becoming the goddess of chaos in the first place.

Tale gave a little smile in thanks as Lia plucked a few specks of paint out of his hair, but it quickly vanished as he listened to what was going on with Cian. He had no idea that his old friend felt that way, and now that he did, he felt like a horrible jerk. He had always loved Cian, but was it the right kind of love to consider a triad? He knew he had that kind of love with Lia, and he didn't want to lose his lover.
He sat down and let out a sigh and he rubbed his hands over his face. It was a tough decision to make, especially since he didn't know exactly what Lia thought about the ultimatum they were given. Talbot didn't want to jeopardize what he had with Lia, but he also didn't want to give up on Cian. Not having the man around and involved in his life somehow was a distressing thought. Could he really leave the man alone? Did he WANT to?
Talbot looked up at Lia. "I... I don't want to just up and leave him alone. I don't think I can. Lia, I really want to do this."

From the look in his eyes when he finally spoke, Lia could tell that Talbot was conflicted. She was too, in a way, but when he said he really wanted to do this, a little bit of worry and doubt left her heart. "By 'this' do you mean bringing him home and having him be a part of us?"
The smile was trying very hard to take over her lips but Lia was keeping a tight rein on it. Until Talbot specifically said that he wanted to make a go at the triad, Lia was not going to let herself smile or make a scene.

Talbot blinked, realizing he hadn't been that clear in exactly what it was he really wanted to do. He was a little leery to clarify, because he still wasn't sure how Lia felt about it, but he went ahead anyway. "Yes, I want to bring him home with us. I want the three of us to be a triad."
He didn't have to wait long to realize the news made Lia happy, in fact, he could tell almost immediately. Tale smiled at his lover, standing and pulling her into a hug. He gave her a quick kiss before getting down to business. "First things first, we need to get Cian home. Lead the way to Cian's place, my dear."

Not wanting to run the risk of seeming like an overly happy puppy dog, Lia somehow managed to control her happiness at Talbot's words. She even managed not to wiggle. Mostly. When Talbot stood and hugged her, Lia squeezed back happily.
Her mind was already racing when Talbot told her to lead the way to Cian's place so they could bring the younger incubus home, her feet quickly followed her mind and in practically no time at all the duo was standing at Cian's door. To be polite, Lia once again knocked on the door but when he didn't answer, her lock-pick kit found its way into her hand once again.
As Talbot had never seen her break into anything, or anywhere, Lia didn't look at the man. She wasn't sure if he'd be judgemental or not about this particular skill of hers. Yes, it may have been something she abused when she was much much younger, but recently it had only been a last minute resort to letting her into their own house. She was too embarassed to tell Talbot that she'd lost her keys...
Once the lock clicked open, Lia slipped the kit into her pocket again and walked right in. Only, lunlike last time she'd let herself into Cian's apartment, the man wasn't sitting draped pathetically at the kitchen table. Thinking he had maybe gone to his bedroom to sleep off his misery, Lia took a guess at which door led to his room and made a bee-line for it dragging Talbot along behind her by the hand.
She opened the door softly, just in case he -was- sleeping, but as soon as she looked inside she knew he wasn't in there either. "Well shit," she grumbled under her breath then turned to Talbot and asked, "Any idea where our missing Incubus may have gone?"

Talbot stifled a smile as Lia all but dragged him off towards the place Cian was calling home for the time being. In no time they were at the man's door, and as Lia knocked Tale had a startling thought: What if Cian didn't let them in? What would they do to get the man to listen and open the door if he was too upset? With no answer at the door, he shifted on his feet, almost moving forward to knock with a little more force, but he was halted when he caught what Lia was doing.
He raised an eyebrow as one side of his mouth quirked up in amusement. His lover was picking the lock on the door. Tale had no idea Lia had such a talent, and it was certainly coming in handy. As the lock clicked open he became eager to get inside and followed close behind Lia. It seemed to be pretty empty when they entered and as Lia dragged him off towards what he assumed what Cian's bedroom, he had a feeling they weren't going to find the man they were looking for.
The feeling was confirmed as they opened the door to another empty room. He sighed and looked around as the thought about where the man would go, and he had a pretty good idea. The man had run, and he would run to the one place where he could be safe. And with a watchdog like Eros, he was plenty safe from the two of them if he refused to see them.Tale was frowning as he face Lia again, "Olympus. Its the only place I can think of him running off to on such short notice."
Well, this was going to make things a little more difficult, but it would be worth it. Talbot just hoped his reputation on Olympus wouldn't hamper their attempt to speak with Cian and ultimately bring him home.

Lia only cringed a little when Talbot said he was sure Cian had run off to Olympus. If that was indeed where Cian had gone, Eris no doubt knew and more than likely was just waiting for Lia to come running. The goddess might be nice and help them in finding Cian, or she might not, that still remained to be seen.
With a half shrug, Lia answered, "Well we better get going then hadn't we? Eris has been nagging me to go visit her anyway so this works out well enough."
*****
Eris was smirking. She couldn't help herself. Here was her darling Lia with one of her lovers in tow and she was wondering if by some chance of fate Eris had any idea if her other lover would permit them to see him. "My sweet girl, the only god who could possibly know that is the one that is sheltering your heartbroken friend. Go talk to Eros, if you're lucky he won't smite you on the spot for hurting one of his own." Watching Lia cringe did make Eris feel a little bad for her, but someday the girl needed to learn that there were consequences to her actions. The fact that Lia hadn't had any serious run-ins with other gods before now honestly amazed Eris considering Lia's normal line of work.

It had been a few years since he'd been in the area. Of course, that might have something to do with Saiyuri's threats after finding out that he was the father of Shay's spawn. Yes, they all called Keane that because Shay had been very...irritable during her pregnancy with the Custos spawn.
The spawn's grandmother had been very clear in her threats and he'd booked it. He'd needed to clear his head anyway so he's travelled the world. Only to end up in Haven. He'd found it when he'd been at his lowest point. In fact, Eros had pretty much dumped him on Haven's doorstep and then retreated for last couple of years. And what a respite that had been. Away from the world and free of duties, he'd been able to recharge and find his center again. With a fresh state of mind and a goal, he left Haven to complete a mission given to him by not only Eros but Eris and a Deity from the orient. He didn't know why but he was to seduce and make the Succubus Lia his mate. It was fated to be, they said, he just had to convince Lia of that.
They said that whatever she'd had with Talbot hadn't worked out and that the other incubus hadn't been seen for a while. So, he returned to Cedar Valley after making a pit stop to see his son. The boy was growing well and appeared to be happy. He explained to Shay and Lily where he'd been for the past few years before returning to the northwest.
With Eros guiding him, he returned to Cedar Valley University and sought Lia out. He found her in her office, grading student projects. He knocked on the doorframe, grinning when she turned to the door. "Hey, Lia," he said, "long time no see."
