Talbot watched Lia in clear amusement as she tried to puzzle through what had just happened in her kitchen. He was a little surprised that Ruri was taking things so well so quickly without any kind of discussion as well, but he has settled enough to roll with it and start taking things as they come. Talbot rolled his eyes at Lia fondly, "Of course I'm willing. And I'd been gone for a long time, Lia. I wasn't 100% sure I'd be welcome, so I prepared just in case."
He glanced up at Ruri's giggle and smiled back her. It was such a natural instinct to do so that he almost missed her asking him out. "Oh, like a date? I haven't had one of those in a long while. That sounds fun." Talbot was really liking this girl so far.

Talbot's surprise at her suggestion of going out after she got home from classes made Ruri smile. The smile still touching her lips Ruri told him, "Its only a date if you want it to be, I don't mind either way. I just want to get to know you better, and clearly Lia's brain can't quite process this whole thing so I think we'd have an easier time of getting acquainted without her muttering in the background." That last bit earned Ruri a gently smacked thigh, which only made Ruri stick her tongue out at the succubus and then laugh.
Turning her attention back to Talbot she added, "Really, though, if you mean to stick around then we ought to know each other better. I was mad at you yesterday before you even got here because of how badly Lia reacted to seeing you. But if she felt safe enough to fall asleep in your lap last night, then hopefully I don't have anything to worry about. I just don't want her or Cian hurt again." What Ruri left unsaid was probably less pleasant, but she wasn't going to deny her own thoughts. If Talbot hurt Lia and Cian again, Ruri had no doubt that her mother would help her hunt the man down. If Ruri's pard side knew his scent well enough, she could share it with her mother and the hunt would go much easier.
