History
Tempest is the oldest out of the set of triplets and the oldest overall. He was the smart, quiet, caregiver of his pack of siblings growing up. He refereed squabbles, did his best to fend off bullies, and put copious amounts of band aids on boo-boos. He stepped up his protective older brother role after his mother Dion left when he was 4. While was hurt and confused, he felt it was his duty as the oldest to help comfort and lead his struggling siblings.
He did as much as he could for his father as well. Where his brother Hawk would rebel and refuse, he would help out. This left little time for friends outside of the family. He focused all of his time on his schooling, taking care of his family, and helping out with as many chores as he could.
Throughout school the teachers looked at Tempest as the starting of a child prodigy, though he never thought it went that far. He did well in all of his subjects due to his natural curiosity of how things worked, and though he wasn't very big into sports, he wasn't ever picked last for anything either. Tempest never had any real friends, but everyone at school knew who he was. He was the nice guy that genuinely got along with everyone and was always in a pleasant mood.
When he was 12, Dion returned home. Tempest was a bit ruffled, as if further unsettled the routine that had been working well for years, but he took it in stride. He acted as a mediator in the inevitable fights, especially when Hawk lost his temper either of their parents, and did his best to sooth ruffled feathers. He also did what he could to welcome Faith into the fold of the family, adding her onto the list of siblings that he was responsible to keep an eye on and protect.
In high school Tempest took to the sciences, specifically biology and chemistry. With his intelligence and pleasant demeanor, all of his teachers were adamant that he think about a future as a doctor. They were constantly talking to him about the all of the great schools with fantastic pre-med programs he could apply to. The idea was appealing to Tempest, but he wanted to travel. He was deeply interested in other countries, people, and cultures. Making his decision, he informed everyone upon graduation that he would be traveling the world instead of going to college.
During his travels he worked odd jobs to earn money while he moved around. Most of his jobs were actually helping either UN, Red Cross, or local doctors with manual labor and small jobs. While doing so, many doctors and nurses began to teach him basic first aid and various healing methods to allow him to help out. During his travels, and through various local doctors, Tempest learned an appreciation of herbalism and botany. He began to learn a lot more about to local plant life and how it could help with healing. This caught the attention of Kamrusepa, and she offered to truly train him in the art of healing. Tempest whole-heartedly accepted her offer and trained diligently, learning to use both his Alati heritage and natural remedies to heal.
Tempest took that new knowledge on his further travels, and used it to help poor villages and the underprivileged. He went where many other school-educated doctors would not go and either did not take any payment from his patients at all, or simply let them give him gifts – but only if they insisted. Kamrusepa made sure he was compensated well for his service to her.
Tempest returned home to visit as often as he could, mostly to check up on his family. Upon one of his returns home, he had come to the realization that everyone had changed - grown up in his absence. He noticed it more vividly with Faith, who he'd had nothing but brotherly thoughts for before, but now found himself infatuated with her. He danced around those feelings for a bit, but eventually he saw no harm in giving in and they began a relationship. Since they were not actually blood related, Dion and Tobin saw no need to interfere.
Tempest and Faith were married not too long after. It hasn’t entirely stopped him from traveling. He will still spirit off for a short trip at Kamrusepa’s request if he is needed, but the trips are much shorter and he is far more eager to return home. He does often try to convince Faith to tag along with him.
