History
Kuraku was part of a wealthy Custos family in Haven with both parents alive and well and three older brothers to bother. That was until she was taken from her bed in the middle of the night at the age of 7. She was taken by a Curantis family, looking to use her family to punish another Custos family. At first it was spying and blackmail, but the Himura’s were soon forced to commit acts of violence. They either complied, or Kuraku would beaten – or worse.
Her family complied and fed information to the Curantis, even commited whatever violence was asked of them, if only so that their daughter would not be harmed. It did not matter what the Himura’s did – Kuraku was beaten, tortured, and even raped during the year she was held. They even rendered her barren because of the continuous torture. The last order given to her family was for the extermination of the Dusek family in Haven, and that if they completed that task, Kura would be returned alive.
The Dusek family was thought to be killed off, but the break in and brutal fight brought forth the attention of Marrus and his oldest son Rhystic. They confronted the family about their actions and all involved were to be imprisoned, but they feared Kuraku being killed if they were imprisoned, so they fought back and were all killed during the fight.
The Curantis, having no use for her any longer, dropped her back in Haven to fend for herself. Rhystic found out from the nearby families that the Himura family had a young daughter that was unaccounted for and had gone out looking for her. He came across the now 8-year-old Kuraku unconscious at the door of her abandoned home. Kuraku was terrified and in agonizing pain when she woke to find a strange Custos man trying to coax her to see a healer. All she wanted was to see her family, but she soon learned that was no longer possible. Something about Rhystic seemed warm and kind to her, and he even looked vaguely like her oldest brother. She let him take her in and eventually grew to trust him.
Kuraku came to trust him enough that she made it clear that she did not wish to be separated from him, so Rhystic decided to officially adopt her. With how distant he was with many people, most believed her to be his biological daughter to begin with, so neither one corrected anyone who bothered to think or say so. She was taught and trained by Rhy personally, and eventually was named his Second General at the age of 17. She is forced to deal with his Third General, Caspian, on an almost daily basis, but even he knows that pissing off an heir to the house, or her father, is a bad idea.
