Character name: Miranda(Mio) Semah Gibbons
Age: 19
Gender: female
Sexuality: heterosexual(though vaguely curious)
Appearance: Mio is of average height and slender, nicely feminine with just enough muscle. Her alabaster complexion and light auburn hair, wavy and thick, speak of her Irish heritage, her pale eyes speaking of that and everything her tongue would not divulge. Their color never the same from one minute to the next yet always glowing with some pure emotion, her eyes an indefinable mix of subtle blue, grey, and green. Splashes of gold gild her pupils while her irises bear a thick, almost lupine rim of storm blue. The irises themselves are ever changing colors as best to suit her mood or the element to which she is nearest
Personality: She is adventurous with a large dose of paranoia but when she does trust some one, it tends to be limitless. While she is very sociable, Mio is far from being a public person, easily putting on a good show for the sake of others and keep most things hidden, including her bi-polar disorder. Her goal, she says, is to be better than herself, thus she is a demanding perfectionist and never lives up to her own expectations. She lives to think about and question things and as soon as she thinks she has an answer, she sets out to prove herself wrong, which enables her to see many, if not all, points of view. She always seeks the good in people, however unlikely it may be that they should have a morsel of good in them, and, ever one to contradict her own convictions, strongly supports pure justice and mercy. Mio is ever preaching tolerance and absolute truth and would put her life on the line for anyone, friend or foe.
Mio has a healthy fear of the Dark Ones that is just strong enough to curb her avid curiosity. While she is no groupie begging to be turned because she ‘wants to know what it’s like,’ her relentless thirst for knowledge makes no exceptions for them. Her curiosity led her to be an occasionally enjoyed plaything and while her cultivated independence rebelled against the blatant dominance of the Dark Ones, within a darker recess of her being, she could admit that she enjoyed the lack of control, having relied on her own faculties as far back as she could remember.
History: When she was two, Mio’s father was killed, though no one ever knew the cause, and her mother and she moved in with a couple that had been her father’s friends. Shortly after, however, Mio’s mother disappeared and the man went in search of her. Neither were heard from again and she grew up happily with the woman she would later refer to as her foster mother. However, when she was eight, Mio’s grandparents laid claim on her, taking her to live with them.
At seventeen, shortly before graduating highschool, her grandparents died days apart from eachother. She had given up her aspirations in light of the fact that her grandparents would not have been able to afford tuition for college and she refused to take scholarships or student loans, her pride allowing no room for ‘charity.’ Fortunately, Mio had been modeling for university art classes, in memory of her mother’s passion and her own developing love for art, and had been prudently saving her money. It was during a private session for finals that she was introduced firsthand to the Dark Ones.
At the end of the week long section, the student’s project was complete and, in a fit excitement, they decided to go to a party he knew of. It was not, as she half expected, in an abandoned warehouse, but in a clearing in the woods near the university. When one young man greeted her by pressing a kiss into hr palm and she felt the almost imperceptible graze of fangs, she knew that there was a bit more under the surface. As she looked around, she picked up small signs revealing that the majority of party-goers were not, as they at first appeared, human. Most were vampires or weres, though Mio was sure that there were pards as well as Custoss in attendance. The thought simply thrilled her and she found herself soon found herself a regular at these parties. She always seemed to gravitate to the same people, the young vamp from her first night in particular, though she never let any of them bite her, nor would she go home with any but a human, and even then only on the odd occasion.
