Archer shuddered at the mention of parents shoving people at their children, her own did that quite well too. Tonight was a perfect example. Her parents had informed her that they were friends with the local Kindle leaders and that she had to meet them if she was going to be living in their territory. Well, last term she'd managed to avoid the meeting but with her parents coming out to visit soon she had to quit putting it off and just do it. So, after rummaging through all her stuff she had managed to find the phone number of the Kindle leaders and had arranged to meet them for dinner that night.
When Chester deposited her pile of books on the table she was sharing with her groupmates, Archer smiled her thanks at him and watched as he sauntered off. As she watched him leave, Archer couldn't help but mourne the fact that his mother was trying to set him up with somebody, a male somebody, at dinner that night. Seeing such an intriguing and attractive man being lost to her, and all women for that matter, was minorly depressing. Oh well, she'd settle for a friendship and she'd just drool over him when he wasn't looking. At that thought, she couldn't help but giggle. When she turned back to her groupmates they were all looking at her funny. "What?" she asked but she didn't get any response.
~~~~~
As Archer made her way up the front walk of the Kindle leader's home she thanked every diety she could think of that her parents had let her bring her car out to school with her. The drive had been long initially but right now, in the light drizzle, she couldn't imagine having to ride her bike across town in a skirt.
Oh how Archer loathed skirts! They wrinkled and twisted, and were damn breezy when the weather was cool. Not to mention they just felt damn restricting to Zephyr's wild senses. The cougar was on alert, all the smells of her new Kindle leaders home were being absorbed and catalogued for later perusal. She was sure that when she met more of the members of the Kindle some of the scents lingering around the home would become familiar.
Pushing the big cat a little farther back from the surface, Archer knocked lightly on the large antique wooden door of the absolutely gorgeous house she'd gotten directions to. She sure hoped that her parents had been correct in the address they gave her, otherwise she was going to have some choice words for them when she got back to her dorm room, three hour time difference or no!
Hearing her knock resounding through the house, Archer flinched; she hadn't even been that loud. Then as she heard footsteps coming towards the door she had to fight the urge to turn and walk back to her car parked out at the curve. She wasn't scared, she just wasn't overly fond of meeting friends of her parent's without them. They all tended to be a little too high-society for her taste. After all, she was a drama major that right there should say something about her kind of people...
Heather opened the door and stared out at the young lady standing on her doorstep. "Oh, you must be Archer! Come in, come in out of this nasty weather." Once Heather had the girl in her entry way, she looked her over. "Well, aren't you just the prettiest thing I've ever seen. You know, I don't know if your parents told you or not but I have a son who is only a few years older then you. Wouldn't it just be great if you two became friends? How do you like the area so far? And don't worry about not stopping by during your first few months here. I figure it must have been a bit stressful, moving and all that. Why, my son rarely visited during his first few months of school and he only moved across town. How stressful it must be to have moved all the way across the country." Heather chattered at her guest while she walked towards the dining room.
She stopped in the doorway and sighed. "Young man, how many times do I have to tell you not to do that! You could get seriously hurt."
Chester groaned as he balanced on the two rear legs of his chair and looked towards his mother. "Mom, I'd this all the timmmm..." he trailed off as he noticed the girl standing just behind his mother. Moving suddenly, Chester tried to get up from his chair but overbalanced and went tumbling backwards. From the floor of the dining room, Chester looked up. "Archer! What are you doing here! Mom, I thought you said that you had someone for me to meet! Last time you said that I meet Dr. Damon! I thought you had another guy for me to meet!"
Heather looked at her son and sighed. She turned to Archer. "You'll have to excuse my son, he gets rather confused every now and then. Chester, get up off the floor and greet our guest who you have apparently already met. She's going to be a visiting member of your father's kindle."
Chester just gaped at Archer and now how she'd tracked him down made sense.
Archer's first impression of the woman was one of sheer and utter confusion for various reasons. One was that Zephyr was very adamant that the woman, who Archer could only assume was one of the Kindle leaders, was most certainly -not- cougar. The other was that the woman had called her the prettiest thing she'd ever seen... Had the woman missed the red and purple streaks in her light brown hair? They were kind of obvious and not quite normal... She most certainly didn't put them there to look pretty, she just had them because she liked the colors. As she followed the woman into the house and past a mirror Archer couldn't help but look at herself and wonder just what the other woman had seen.
She was about to thank the woman for her understanding about her tardiness in introducing herself when suddenly the woman stopped in the doorway of a room. Looking past the woman, she saw it was a dining room and the occupant was more than a little familiar. When Chester tried to get up from his precariously perched chair and instead toppled it backwards Archer's hands flew to her mouth both to cover a smile and stifle a gasp. HE was a cougar? How in the world could she not have known? Zephyr practically purred at the revalation.
She was about to rush forward to help Chester up off the ground when he opened his mouth. The words that came pouring out didn't necessarily sound dissappointed but they weren't exactly happy either. She had to force herself not to look dissappointed, after all she'd already pegged him as one not interested in girls so why would he be excited to see her instead of some doctor?
Not letting his lack of enthusiasm stop her, Archer still walked past Chester's mother to help him up off the floor. Her wrist brace was well hidden by the light-weight sweater but just because it was hidden didn't mean she wasn't still hurt. Since she hadn't had a chance to Shift yet and heal, she offered Chester her good hand even though it was normally her weaker hand. "Come on you, get up," she said a bit teasingly as she helped him to his feet. Once he was up and about again she couldn't help but smile at him as she waited for him to say something else.
Chester ignored Archer's offer of her hand and scrambled off the floor. "Uh, Hi Archer. Fancy meeting you here." Chester turned back towards his mother and scowled. "You said that you had someone you wanted me to meet. You made it sound like a possible date and not Archer!"
Heather blinked at her son as she righted his chair. "I never said anything about that. Now, go entertain Archer while we wait for your father to get home," she shooed both young adults out of her dining room, smirking as she straigtened a corner to the table cloth.
Chester scowled at his mother from over his shoulder as he escorted Archer into the living room. "So...you're a cougar?"
As Chester waited for an answer he stood by the window and watched for his father's car. This was awkward...at best, what with his mother and her confusion about her son's sexuality. If anything, this was all her fault for turning him into the male version of Suzy Homemaker. Somewhere, in the boxed abyss that was the apartments spare room he had a bunt cake pan. "So, Archer, where do you come from?"
Now Archer was starting to get offended. Yeah sure he'd said hi to her, but he was yelling at his mom for it just being her he was being introduced to. She may not have been his 'type' but the least he could do is be friendly and at least a little happy to see her. He didn't seem to mind her at school after all. Hmph.
As they made their way into what Archer could only assume was the living room, Chester asked probably the most obvious question he could. She didn't bother to answer him, she just gave him an unbelieving look and nodded her head. Of course she was a cougar. Now that he knew, couldn't he smell her? She could him... Stupid boy.
Once they were settled in the livingroom, Chester by the windows and Archer standing in the middle of the room, everything looked to perfect to sit on, he finally asked a somewhat decent question. This was one she would answer, if somewhat coldly, "I'm from southern Indiana, down near Brown County." It wasn't much but it was all the answer he was getting after the way he'd reacted to her being the one he had to meet. It really had hurt her feelings. Maybe she was just some dumb freshman girl to him after all. She'd thought there might have been the beginnings of a friendship but apparently she'd been wrong.
Chester winced at the ice in Archer's voice. He knew that he was being rude. He'd expected to be confronted by a guy he had to play nice during dinner before telling the guy that he just wasn't interested in him...or men. He hadn't expected that Archer was his parents dinner guest.
Chester leaned against the wall. "Yeah, sorry about that. My mom sprung you on me. She never tells me who we are expecting for dinner, just that I'm to look presentable and be friendly. The last few times it's been a possible date and that is what I was expecting tonight."
When he saw the classic mustang roar into the driveway, it's left front tire only inches away from his mother's flower beds, Chester shook his head. "That's my dad and his baby, the car I mean. I guess I should introduce you." Chester shooed Archer into the hallway and greeted his father as the older man tossed his briefcase and dripping coat over the chair kept next to the front door. "Dad, Archer. Archer, this is my father, Alex."
Archer was still bristling when Chester gave a rather lame apology. She was half tempted to snap at the guy, and she probably would have if she hadn't heard the rumble of a car as it pulled into the driveway. She only had to lean a little bit to the side to see around Chester, and the old Mustang came into view. She gave a low whistle of appreciation at the sight of the car and laughed as Chester called it his dad's baby.
As she was shooed toward the door, Archer laughed and answered him, "My dad has one too but his is a convertible and he only takes it out for special occasions in good weather." When Chester passed her to greet his father, Archer clenched and unclenched her fingers in her skirt. Zephyr had caught the older man's scent and it was -very- clear he was an Alpha. The fact that he was to be her new Alpha made the shivers that were running down her back even more intense. Zephyr and Archer weren't young in their partnership but they were newcomers to a strange Alpha's territory, they couldn't help but be nervous.
Alex stared at the young woman in his hallway. Hadn't his wife made some mention of having company for dinner. Like his son, he assumed it to be some eligable doctor, lawyer or busboy Heather was trying to set up with Chester. "Archer...Archer...Oh, yes, Zephyr! Your parents made mention of you in our last phone conversation. Several months ago." Alex raised one eyebrow at the girl as he tossed his son the keys to the car. "Chester, go put the car in the garage. You're mother's got her junk blocking the way again. Archer, follow me and will talk. Has this moron offered you anything to drink yet?"
Out in the driveway, Chester grumbled as he shoved his mother's boxes from the flea market she'd hunted around in today aside. "Good going, Chester. Now she probably thinks we're not only gay but stupid."
Chester rolled his eyes at Pax's complaints as he scooted onto the butter soft seats of the mustang and turned the car over. After a bit of inching around the driveway, he finally had the car lined up and eased it into the garage. "Its not like it's my fault. I didn't know what she was and Mom had someone she wanted me to meet. The last three times its been some guy. You can shoot me for being stupid later."
Chester stepped over his mothers stuff and came in through the garage door. "Now, go in there and make a sincere apology." Chester huffed and headed for his father study, the place were Archer's scent led to. He stood outside the door and waited. Alex was probably going on about this and that and rules and kindle meetings and the most current gossip in the kindle.
Archer barely stifled an 'eep' of surprise when Chester's father said her other name. She really hadn't expected her parents to share -that- bit of information with perfect strangers! She had to suppress yet another one when Chester's father shooed Chester out to get the car into the garage and then asked her if Chester had offered her anything to drink.
She hadn't anticipated having to talk to the Alpha before dinner, her stomach was in knots and she hadn't even gotten a feel for the man. For all she knew he was going to yell at her for taking so long to make her membership in the Kindle official. By taking so long, he may have started to consider her a rogue which would be very bad... Any Alpha can have rogues in their territory Hunted and if not killed, at least seriously punished for intruding...
Archer was breathing a little erratically as the thoughts raced through her mind, she was actually on the verge of hyperventilating until Zephyr surfaced and took control of their breathing. The big cat thought Archer's reaction to both Chester and his father quite funny. She'd known about Chester for a while but had been waiting to see how long it took Archer to figure out. As for Chester's father... He was an Alpha, no big deal. She could read by his scent and his body language that all of Archer's wildest worries were just that, wild worries.
Alex reclined back in his coushy leather desk chair and watched the younger cat perched on the edge of the visitor's chair. By her scent, the girl was nervous. "Now, Archer, I can respect that you've delayed this meeting. I'm sure that you've had a lot to deal with but I want you to know that you can come to me with any worries or questions you may have. I'm not as scary as the younger members of the Kindle way tell you."
Alex scribbled something down on a scratch peice of paper and pushed it across to Archer. "Thats where the younger ones gather normally, Chester can take you along until you are comfortable with them."
***
Chester sighed and pounded on the door to his father's office. "Mom says dinner is ready and you better move your ass before she feeds your portion of the ham to the neighbors dog." Chester snickered when his father, a ham addict, ran from the room to stop his wife from messing with that thing the neighbors called a dog.
Chester snagged Archer as she exited the room and dragged her down the hallway into the the room his mother kept for him. Chester sat down the bed and sighed. "Look, I'm sorry about earlier. You just knocked me for a loop. First, I'm expecting some tedious dinner with some guy my mother has set up for me and then you show up and that means you are a cougar because Mom said it was a new member of the kindle coming to dinner. And, I'm really sorry about all of that."
Once Zephyr calmed Archer down, talking with Chester's father really wasn't that scary. He was actually even pretty nice for an Alpha, much more approachable that the Alpha's from the Kindle she was raised in. She was actually smiling by the time that Chester came and pounded on the door. When he relayed the message that his mother was threatening to give the neighbor's dog the ham she'd made for dinner, she couldn't help but laugh.
When Chester's father bolted out of his office to go stop his mother, Archer followed and was immediately snagged by Chester. She followed willingly as he led her down a hallway (after all, what else could she do?) and was a bit surprised to find herself in what appeared to be his bedroom. She was even more surprised when he started to apologize for earlier. She waited until he was done and then she said, "Chester, I'm not mad, its okay. Just next time I make the effort to wear a skirt don't look at me like I'm chopped liver okay?" Her words may have actually been the way she was feeling but the lilt in her voice made it obvious she was playing too. She'd leave it up to Chester to decide how he wanted to react. In the mean time she asked, "So do you think your dad rescued the ham from your mother before she gave it to the neighbor's dog?
Chester couldn't help but laugh at Archer's question about the ham. He leaned forward, braced his elbows against his knees and scrubbed his hands over his face. "I only did that to get you out of my father's office. I don't think we're even having ham for dinner. I think my mother was making noises about roasted chicken. He'll more then likely drag me out in the yard after dinner and chase me around the woods for that."
Chester groaned and looked at Archer. "Really, I am sorry about that and that skirt does look good on you. I suppose we should get downstairs and to dinner before they come up here, wondering what we are up to." Chester stepped into the hallway before Archer and yelped when his father tackled him. He shoved Alex away and growled at him. "Yes, Dad, sorry about the ham."
Chester climbed to his feet and scooted past his gloating father. Somedays, it just didn't pay to get out of bed.
Archer couldn't keep a smile from her lips if she'd tried, Chester really was a good guy after all; he'd complimented her skirt and meant it. Of course, a guy who's mother set him up with other men would likely have good taste in clothes... If any other guy had dragged her into his bedroom and then said the words, "we should get downstairs before my parents come up here and wonder what we're up to" Archer may have wondered just what the guy wanted to get up to with her. Chester though was harmless.
When Chester led the way into the hallway and gave a yelp, Archer did too as she jumped out of the way of the two men as they tumbled to the floor in a heap. When Chester shoved his dad off and apologized about the ham fib Archer gave in to her urge to giggle. When Chester glared at her she gave him a cheesey grin and followed him downstairs, walking just ahead of his father.
Chester, after filling his stomach full of supper, sat out on the back porch, a beer bottle dangling between the fingers of one hand. Tonight had been full of surprises. Archer...pretty, little Archer was a cougar. Pax had all but purred at that realization. A female he didn't consider to be a sister visiting the kindle for the next four years, at the very least.
Chester stretched his legs out and leaned back in the deck chair. Dinner had been eventful, with his mother firing question after question at the girl and his father pestering her about the kindles back east. He'd just sat back and watched.
He was sure that Archer was curious about his mother being a human. She knew all about the kindle and just what he and his father were. She was the adopted daughter of one of the elders. He'd just to turned to be more cougar then human in the end.
The cougar part of him liked the Archer Girl's scent and wanted to know more. He also wanted to break that whole gay image his human counterpart had going for himself. There were plenty of other males in the area who'd be on Archer's tail once they got a wiff of her scent. Pax huffed out a breath and sighed. It looked like he'd have to take control of his silly human side when he knew more about the female.
By the time Archer left Chester's house she was thoroughly exhausted. His mother had asked all sorts of questions, anything from what her major was to what her favorite memory was from when she was a child, and his father had asked about the kindles back east. Since she really only had been in one all her life, until now that is, she could only tell her about that one. Luckily he hadn't seem dissappointed.
She was now sprawled on her bed in her dorm just staring at the ceiling thinking over some of the more interesting parts of the evening. Upmost in her mind was the fact that Chester was a werecougar like she was. It made things a bit more interesting as it meant she would likely be seeing a lot more of him even if it was just as friends.
She decided she would have to harrass him at the library tomorrow if her schedule allowed her. It shouldn't be too hard as it was her light day of the week. Until then though, she was utterly and completely wiped. Hauling herself up off her bed, she rummaged through her dresser for some pj's then headed off down the hall to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
There were days when Chester loathed being the nice, dependable guy. Even with the utalitarin blinds drawn, the door locked, and a chair back wedged under the knob, Chester worried that someone was going to burst in and find them. While most of the school considered him to be gay this would only be a confirmation of that belief. But heaven help the man with a Custos writer who was having trouble picturing a scene in is head as a friend.
"Cian, is this really nesscesary? Can't you get Talbot to help you out? I'm sure that he'd be happy to help."
The Custos digging through a battered leather satchel looked up, his dark hair falling across his eyes, at the young man sitting on the sturdy table . "Tale is currently obsessed with his newest lady love, as you well know. Besides, you look the most like Susan." he said while looking for his tape recorder.
"With the exception that she's a female character that almost excuslively lives in your head while I'm male and most believably alive."
Cian looked over his shoulder and grinned. "Your point? Now, Chester, I want you to behave and act like a puppet," Cian flipped his recorder on and bounced over to Chester, fitting himself in between his legs. "These is the scene were Andy plans to seduce Susan."
Chester rolled his eyes and flopped his arms over Cian's shoulders. "So I gathered. Well, get on with it." Chester didn't mind getting this close to Cian. He'd been closer. Cian had helped him figure out for himself if he was gay or not. Not person, male or female, could honestly say that there weren't, in some way, attracted to the Custos. Chester, at the age of 18, had gotten himself into one of those eighteen and over clubs.
At the time, he'd been depressed, bent on drinking himself silly with a fake ID, and convinced that the rumors of him being gay were true. He just wasn't like the other boys in school and he fit the sterotype of a gay man so well. Cian had zeroed in on that fact alone and flirted with him. Kissed him a few times. Even slept with him but the Custos had insisted that the young cougar be sober for that.
While Chester had enjoyed the experience, any fool would enjoy an experience with an Incubus, he hadn't wanted to repeat it.
Now, that he was a college student and little more secure about himself, Chester didn't mind being seen in public with Cian drapped over him or the occasional kiss from the man. Considering that Cian had a tendancy to kiss any of his friends at any given time, Chester had grown numb to it all.
"You are so lucky I'm a nice enough person to let you do this in a private room where any idiot can burst in on us in a questionable postion," Chester mumbled as Cian bent his head towards him. The Custos just ignored him and mumbled into his tape recorder.
She was still in a contemplative mood from the night before when she wandered into the library between classes. Almost instinctivly now, Archer let Zephyr find Chester's scent and followed it blindly through the library. It didn't take her long to reach one of the study rooms and find the blinds closed. She cocked her head to one side curiously then knocked on the door and opened it.
Or at least she tried to open it, it only opened partway before it got wedged on something. "What the?" she asked herself quietly then poked her head in to see what was blocking the door. The sight inside though caught her attention before she could even see what was blocking the door. "Chester?" she squeaked as she looked between him and the other man who Chester had his legs wrapped around. Then, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment, Archer muttered, "Sorry to interrupt," and she took one good look at the man, the scruffy handsome type, before running from the room and the library.
*****
She'd spent the past three hours taking out her frustration and dissappointment in the set design shop. The set being built for the current play was now a decent chunk closer to being finished. While she'd worked, Archer couldn't get the image of Chester and the other man out of her mind. She'd gotten the gay vibe off of Chester from the beginning but she'd still had her wistful daydreams that he might not be. To have those daydreams dashed by stumbling upon Chester with another man was a little much for Archer to deal with.
Having been kicked out of the shop for the day because the professor had to take his kids to a doctor's appointment, Archer was at a loss of what else to do and so she found herself sitting on the edge of the fountain on campus. Normally she would go to the library to harrass Chester but that was sooo out of the question right now.
Cian rubbed at the lump on his head and watched the young cougar perched at the reference desk. He'd been using Chester to visualize a stubborn scene and things might have gotten out of hand and Chester apparently loathed him for all time now. Some girl had broken in the room and run away from them after saying something. Judging from Chester's reaction, it would take a lot to get himself back into the young cougar's good graces.
Chester had, for lack of a better world, spazzed. He'd jumped away from him and in the process, pushed Cian down, hence the bump on his head. Cian leaned against the reference desk and peered at Chester. He was hunched over a textbook tapping the eraser end of a pencil against the page, seemingly reading the words. Cian would give a hundred dollars that Chester wasn't focused on the words. "So, Chester what is with the girl and the freaking out."
Chester glared upwards and snarled. "The girls name is Archer and I was planning on bringing her around to going out with me before you were struck with a bout of writers block. Now she probably thinks I am gay. Thank you ever so much."
Cian eased back a step and sighed. "Chester, darling, everyone thinks you are gay. Besides, if you want the girl you should go get her."
Chester could feel Pax clawing to be let loose at the Custos. That Custos just annoyed the hell at him at times. "Chester, if you value your lift and your ability to preform you incubus ways, get out of here. Now!"
Cian scooted out of the library and sighed. Well...that was meaningless, he thought as he strolled towards the main square of the campus. He'd managed what he'd set out to do today and he was now bored. Cian stopped feet away from the fountain and tilted his head to the side. There, seated to the right of him was Chester's little lady. Grinning to himself and wiggling his fingers, Cian crossed over and prepared to meddle. He perched himself right next to Archer, one foot tucked beneath his body and smiled at her. "Ya know, Love, Chester, dispite the way he acts, fancys the ladies. I was just a passing interest years ago. That little scene you walked in on was nothing more then me trying to figure out a literary problem. It means nothing."
Archer nearly fell in the fountain when somebody sat down next to her and started talking to her. She'd been so wrapped up in her one-woman pity party that she'd not heard him walk up and when she saw who it was she couldn't help but bristle. Zephyr too wanted to lash out at the man. Archer may have thought Chester gay but Zephyr had scented Pax and thought she knew better. When they saw the men in a fairly personal embrace both females had been hurt.
Knowing what Zephyr would do to the man, Archer exerted her control and just glared at him instead of attacking with claws and fangs like she wanted. When he finally stopped talking Archer gave in to her and Zephyr's wish for some violence and she reached out and smacked him, open-handed and let her fingernails drag across his cheek. "You bastard!" she growled at him and then stalked off back to her dorm room.
Once she got back to her room, she dropped her bag by her desk and flopped on her bed. She took one shaky breath and then before she could stop herself she started to cry. The sobs that came wracked her body until it ached and she just couldn't cry anymore. She wasn't sure why or how but she hadn't even been dating Chester and he had broken her heart. Judging by the look on Chester's face though, he hadn't meant to and that was the only reason she decided she would go to the library tomorrow, on her free day, and apologize for bursting in on him and the other man.
Whether they were doing what the other man said they were, or doing what they had appeared to be doing, didn't matter to Archer. She was going to apologize for being rude and then she would leave him alone. She loved the library but she could learn to avoid it.
Having come to a decision about Chester, and realizing it was now dark out, Archer grabbed up her duffle bag she had stashed under bed and headed outside. Zephyr was still riled up and wanted to run. Considering her emotional state, Archer wasn't really up to arguing and she knew the run would make her feel better too.
It didn't take her too long to get across campus to her favorite spot, the Stone Rings sculpture. As it was dark and the sculpture was so far away from all the buildings of the school Archer was confident she wouldn't be disturbed while she Shifted. All the same she double and triple checked for people before hurridly stripping and shoving her clothes and shoes into her empty duffle bag and zipping it closed.
As soon as the bag was closed, Archer felt Zephyr rushing to the surface and she stepped back and let her come. In almost no time at all, the young human woman was replaced by a large pale tawny cougar. Snatching up the handles of the duffle bag in her mouth, Zephyr leapt to the top of the inner ring of the sculpture and placed the bag in a shallow depression she knew would be there from previous excursions.
Once Archer's clothing was secure and hidden, Zephyr leapt from the inner ring to the outer ring and then down to the freshly mown grass before bolting into the nearby woods. Not for the first time, Zephyr was grateful that that the college Archer had chosen backed up to a big wooded park. It was the perfect place for her to run and play. All the trees to climb, animal smells to follow, and the peace of the woods were a dream come true for both of them but especially for Zephyr.
Zephyr had run until just before dawn and now a sleepy Archer made her way back across campus to her dorm. She was incredibly glad that today was her day off as she finally made it to her room, unlocked the door, and collapsed onto her bed.
When she was woke up at 11am, only five hours later, Archer wanted to kill somebody. That somebody happened to be her room mate who was shaking her and demanding she get up and clean her side of the dorm room.
Archer hissed and swatted at her room mate and grumbled, "I had a rough day yesterday so I'm going to be lazy today. I'll clean my part of the room on the weekend. Until then just don't look over here if you don't like it." Then she rolled out of bed, realized she was still in her clothes from the day before, grabbed up some clean clothes and left the room. She needed a shower and some breakfast then she was going to the library to apologize to Chester.
Cian grinned as he rubbed his sore cheek. He'd done just enough meddling for the moment. Cian stood and stetched before grinning and scrambling across the square. It was during classes so no one would really notice. Cian wrapped himself around Lia, one of the art professors associated with the university as she walked into the square. When he was shoved away, Cian just snickered and walked with her.
Chester couldn't help but grin at Rachel as she asked him about books. He'd knew that his classmate knew where the books were located. She spent more time in the library then him. "Now, Rachel, I know that you know where that book is, why do you need my help?"
Rachel smiled at Chester and leaned across the desk. "But I get lost so easily. I don't want to be lost all day long in this place."
Chester smirked as he walked around the counter to the swinging half door. "Well, then, please follow me."
