When she saw him open his mouth to ask her more questions about her family, she was suddenly very glad she'd asked him a question first. The answers he gave though weren't at all what she expected. The irony that he had been raised by a god and she had been abandoned by one wasn't lost on Lia and not realizing she was doing it, muttered, "Damn gods playing with people's lives..."
Then for some reason totally beyond her, Lia heard herself grumbling out, "I know just how crazy the gods can be, my father -is- one..." If it wouldn't have seemed completely mental, Lia likely would have hissed at herself for letting that tidbit slip. Hadn't she been trying to avoid telling him in the first place? Instead she just sighed pitifully and looked away.
When her eyes landed on Talbot's nearly untouched dinner, she snagged his fork and speared herself a couple raviolis to munch on. Discussing her history was very draining...

Talbot tilted his head in confusion when he heard her muttered words, but when she grumbled out the next comment his eyes widened. He hadn't expected Lia to be the daughter of a god, though it would explain why wasn't really ever a part of her life. Many of the gods he had met rarely acknowledged children they had with any others less than other gods.
It was easy to tell, considering her reaction, that she hadn't meant to say that, and on one hand he was a little hurt that she had planned on leaving it out, but on the other he figured she would have eventually told him about it in her own time. Tale let it go, sliding his arms around her waist, remembering that she was still seated in his lap.
He noticed her take a fork to the food on his plate and he raised and eyebrow playfully. When she went for another fork full of -his- ravioli he leaned forward and stole a bite out of the speared pasta.

Romi stretched out on his stomach and looked over his shoulder at Foster. After hours of "ego stroking", they'd fallen asleep. Now they were both awke and it was morning. Romi was just glad that his only class today didn't start until later in the afternoon. "And how do you feel this morning? Hows the lip?" he asked as he watched the nude man walk from the bed to his closet.
Romi rolled onto his back and stared up at the ceiling. He'd roll out of bed in a moment or two but he prefered to wake up slowly rather then quickly. Mornings were not his favorite time of the day. After another moment of lolling about Foster's bed, Romi slid from beneath the sheets and bent over to gather his clothing. "So, call me whenever you need your ego stroked. I am, after all, just down the hall from you." He planted a kiss on Foster's cheek and left the bedroom, clothing held in front of his body should their squimish roommate be up and about.

Oh how she loved ravioli! She was happily demolishing the pile on Talbot's plate when suddenly he ate some off of the fork just as she was raising it to her mouth again. "Hey!" she scolded as she pulled the fork away. She glared at him playfully for just a moment before reaching across the small table to her plate and upending it above Talbot's. "Fine, if you want me to feed you we may as well put it all on one plate."
Lia smirked at Talbot's confused look then she speared some more ravioli and held the fork toward him so he could have some more. She did this for a while, occaisionally having a few bites herself, before she set the fork down and stared at her lover. Finally she asked him, "So, we love each other, you have a son, and i'm the daughter of a god, how does all of this affect us?" She was sure the answer wouldn't be too scary but she really needed to just get everything out in the open. She'd already let slip her deepest secret so what was the point of holding back anything else?

Foster woke up thoroughly rested and feeling much better than he had the night before. He groaned at the numbers on his clock, having to get ready for class. He gave a look of longing at his bed partner and roommate as he slipped out of bed. Foster would have prefered to stay in bed all day with the man, but they both had classes they had to get to. He replied to Romi as he started rooting through his clothes for something to wear. "I feel much better this morning." He poked at his lip a bit to test out the injury. "The lip seems better. Though, I still look like I got punched in the face."
He wasn't looking forward to having his face marked, or having to answer the questions of his gossiping classmates. Foster would simply say he got into a fight with a jealous boyfriend, his classmates wouldn't really find that strange, after all. He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard Romi speaking and smirked at the offer, as well as the kiss on the cheek. "I'll keep that in mind." He watched his roommate walk out of the room, admiring the view before getting ready to class.
Foster's class was a History course, and therefore, one that bored him greatly. He amused himself by doodling in his notebook (instead of taking notes) and let out a small sigh of relief when the professor finally allowed them to leave a few minutes early. It was lunchtime by the time he was free of his class, and his meal plan was part of his scholarship, so he meandered across campus to the cafeteria for his free meal.
***
Talbot smiled rubbing Lia's sides lightly as she up-ended her plate onto his and proceeded to feed him ravioli. He hadn't really expected to get fed, but once she held out the fork to him he took the offering happily. Tale had a guilty pleasure for being pampered, as in all his other relationships he had been the one doing the pampering, so he always reveled in such attention from Lia.
When she set the fork down and turned her eyes to him he knew the conversation was taking a serious turn once again. He almost dreaded what she had to say, but he only found what she asked to confuse his feelings a bit. They loved eachother, right? So why would anything else affect them? After a short moment he couldn't really come up with anything better to say. "I.. I'm not sure. I know I love you, that I want to be with you, for as long as I can hold on. Preferably for a -very- long time. Should anything else matter?"
((ooc - Alright.. I figured the Cafe may be a good place to have chance run-ins with people, though it can be before or after as well if you like ^^. And Tale is getting all mushy and sentimental, lol.. just ignore him for now if it bothers Lia... it'll pass))

Lia was a bit taken off guard by Talbot's answer to her question but she wasn't dissappointed by it. She just wasn't quite sure how to answer... So, instead of answering with words Lia smiled, kissed Talbot softly then climbed off his lap and held out a hand to him. She'd had one appetite sated, now she needed to take care of the other one...
When he took her hand, Lia gave a little tug and pulled him up out of his chair and toward the stairs. As she backed away from him, still holding his hand, she whispered, "Tale, let me play with your wings?" The soft white feathers of his wings were silky and comforting and after the rough day they had both had, she figured a little bit of time to let loose and love each other would be good for both of them.

Her highschool was on spring break and so Austin had taken the opportunity of a day off from her community college classes to go take a tour of the university she wanted to attend in the fall. The morning had been busy with talking to an advisor and financial aid people and before she actually went on the tour she had been pointed in the direction of the cafeteria to go have some lunch.
Once she'd gotten her meal, she took it to one of the tables right next to the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked one of the many gardens the university boasted. It was a nice sunny spring day and Austin could feel the warmth coming through the windows as soon as she sat down. Her lunch was simple, just a bagel and cream cheese and an apple. She hadn't wanted anything too heavy to make her sleepy or distracted during the tour.

Talbot smiled as Lia kissed him, but it began to form into a pout as she removed herself from his lap. He looked at the hand offered to him and saw the look in his lover's eyes. He knew that look, and it brought his smile right back with a bit of an undertone of playfullness. He'd seen that look before, and every time he had seen it, it had led the two of them right to the bedroom. Or wherever it was they had happened to be when the mood struck them.
He allowed her to pull him up, though he stood on his own as well to ease the strain of his weight off of Lia. He refused to let go of her hand, so as she backed away he allowed himself to be lightlhy pulled along once she could go no further without them separating. Her whispered words caused him to smirk. She loved to play with his wings from time to time, and he in turn loved to play with hers as well, so he whispered back. "Only if I get to play with yours."

Foster wandered through the lines, looking for something appitizing to eat that he could get a lot of. He hadn't had time to eat breakfast that morning, and he had woken up rather ravenous from his night of rolling in the sheets with Romi. He settled on a rather healthy yet tasty looking chicken sandwich, but that wasn't quite enough to quell his hunger so he also piled some pasta into his plate. Grant was grumbling about Foster's lack of adequate meat in the meal he had chosen. Now he just had to find a place to sit.
With as many people as Foster had gotten to know on campus, and due to his outgoing personality and heritage it had been a lot, you would think he had plenty of tables full of people to choose from. Actually, he rarely liked eating with large groups of people and he usually used his lunch time to sit in silence by himself for a few moments. Today, however, he was still feeling the bruises on his ego and was looking for a bit of lunch-time flirting.
As he automatically made his way towards the wall of large floor to ceiling windows, where he usually sat to bask in the sun, he noticed a new face. While that may not be uncommon in such a large college, he found that the cafeteria tended to be run just like high school with people sitting in the same, or relatively the same, spot everyday. This meant the lovely lady he saw sitting by herself was either a new student or a prospective student. Foster set his plate and glass of soda down at the table, but waiting until she looked up. "Is it alright if I sit here?"
When he didn't get shooed off he smiled and sat down, making sure to leave a seat between them incase it seemed he made her uncomfortable. "I don't believe I've seen you around before. My name's Foster." He extended his hand in greeting.

((ooc: lets just say Lia and Tale are off having a fun romp and leave it at that for them =P ))
Austin had been lost in thought, her eyes trailing after an early butterfly as it flitted around the garden outside the window. She really liked the atmosphere at the university so far and she was really hoping that she would like what she saw of the place on her tour later. She'd seen bits and pieces of the campus so far, just trying to find the administrative and financial aid offices as well as the cafeteria, but she didn't know what anything was.
She had just picked up her apple to take a bite when a plate and a glass were placed on the table a short way away from her. She looked up and saw a rather cute guy watching her. When he opened his mouth and asked if he could sit at the table she had claimed, she just smiled and nodded dumbly. Holy hell he had a sexy accent!!!
Once he'd seated himself, Austin tried her best not to gawk too much as she listened to him talk. As it was, she was still a bit distracted by his accent and only caught he gist of what he said. When he held out his hand by way of introduction, Austin took it and smiled even bigger. "My name is Austin. I'm just here taking tour of the university. I'm hoping to attend next fall." Only after she'd said it did Austin realize she had probably just given away how young she was, and this guy looked older. Damn. Oh well, he was likely way out of her league anyway. An Australian hottie like him, as there could be nowhere else he was from with that accent, likely had a whole string of girls hanging off of him all the time. What would he want with a highschool senior? Even if she -was- nearly done with one years worth of college credits already, she was still too young. Oh well, maybe they could at least be friends or something.
The more she thought about things while she waited for Foster to comment, the more silly she realized she was being. She likely wouldn't even get to attend the university, unless the financial aid folks pulled off a miracle, so why on Earth would she even be contemplating being involved with this guy? Even if he was hot and friendly. Oh she was pitiful sometimes! Austin couldn't help but laugh at herself, and she decided to quit mentally drooling over the guy and just wait to see if he had anything else to say.

Foster kept a friendly smile on his face, though it wasn't too hard to do as he was generally friendly anyway, and gave her hand a short shake as she introduced herself. He was happy to hear she was a prospective student. That meant she was most likely his age, and his flirting usually went over easier when he didn't have to worry about the other person finding out he was only 17 and thinking about him as jail bait for the rest of the conversation.
His smile only widened as he answered. "Oh yeah? So you're a senior in High School, right?" He ate a fork full of his pasta as he waited for some sort of action to confirm his question before he continued. "I'm only a freshmen here, but I actually skipped a grade." He looked a little sheepish at that. While he was a confident person, others took the news of him skipping grades differently, so that was a subject he was usually modest about. "So that would made us about the same age, eh?"
His pasta was being used to occupy himself with as he pushed it around the plate with his fork as he waited for her response. He would glance at her from time to time, but he was playing this one safe so he didn't want to seem like he was being too forward. He know he usually looked older than 17, so he was preparing to deal with a little bit of disbelief from Austin.

When Foster asked if she was a senior in highschool, Austin nodded and tried not to grimace at the admission. There it was, now he knew just how young she was and there wasn't anything she could do about it. As he kept talking, Austin's attention deffinately perked. He'd skipped a grade? Then he went on to imply that they were the same age and Austin couldn't help but smile.
She watched him play with his pasta for a moment before she answered him. "I haven't skipped any grades in normal school but if I do wind up going to college next fall it'll be as a sophomore. I finished my high school credits early so this year I've been taking college courses." She'd seen the sheepish look when he'd mentioned skipping a grade and that's why she'd wanted to tell him about her own schooling so far. Maybe he wouldn't be embarrassed by the fact that he was smart.

He watched her as she nodded in answer to his question. She seemed a bit down about his answer until she heard the rest of it. That brought him a bit of a private smile. So Austin had been just as concious about her age, then? Foster saw a bit of an opening, but it widened (as did his eyes) when she mentioned she had been taking college course for the last year of high school.
Now they had a bit more in common, and if she did manage to join the university in the fall they would be the same age and the same academic level. Now he was intrigued and he wanted to get a feel for Austin and what she liked. "Really? So that means we'd be in the same level then. What are you thinking about studying? Maybe I can answer a question or two about the college for ya."

Austin couldn't help but be excited by everything Foster was saying. And he actually seemed interested in her which was exciting. Because she hadn't been actually attending high school, her friendships there were limited. And the classes she took at the community college were filled with mostly older students that didn't really want anything to do with a 'baby' like her. It would be so nice to finally have somebody she could relate to again!
When he asked what she had been thinking about studying, she blurted out in an enthusiastic rush, "Creative Writing for my major and either Theatre or Art for my minor." So many of the people she knew had looked at her funny for her choices in studies but Austin didn't care anymore. She was a creative person and to try and study anything else would likely drive her insane. Math and Science were deffinately -not- her strong suits...

Foster's eye widened, a spark lighting behind his baby blues when Austin mentioned what she intended to study. While creative writing wasn't a particular interest, he had gotten some enjoyment out of the assignments he'd had to do in high school. Theater also wasn't a specialty of his, but he knew enough about it, especially with Romi as his roommate. But art, -that- was his forte and he was always interested in learning more about people who were art inclined. "Haven't had a college level creative writing course so far, but I happen to be an art major, and my mate is into theather."
He took a few fork fulls of his lunch, not really wanting to let the food get cold and go to waste, but he was quick to chew it, also not wanting to take time away from his conversation. "Are you taking one of those formal tours? 'Cause I could show you around the art studios that aren'tbeing used at the moment." He shied away from talking about the professors. Foster was only reminded of the night before, and for his efforts the now healing, and only lightly bruised, lip gave a twinge to remind him it was still there, but he ignored it.

Austin really couldn't believe her luck. Not only was Foster cute as hell and her age, but he actually had some similar interests as her. She had the sudden urge to giggle as the stray thought about pinching herself came to mind. She was fairly certain this wasn't a dream because it was much better than most of her other dreams ever were. Most of them were boring and mundane. This was much too exciting to be a dream.
When Foster offered to give her a private tour of the art studios, Austin felt the smile on her face widen before she'd given it leave to do so. She didn't care though and quickly followed her mouth's lead. "That would be really great. I don't think the tour i going to do more than just breeze through the different departments and considering my interests really only lie in three areas, the other places the tour would go aren't going to be that interesting for me."
Suddenly, Austin was ready to pack up the last bit of her bagel and go wander the campus with Foster. Lunch didn't matter that much when confronted with her future education and somebody who seemed just as excited about her as she was about him. Considering he was still eating though, Austin forced herself to do the same, nibbling at her bagel.

As he waited for her to consider the tour idea and give him an answer, Foster had been eating. He wanted the meal mostly out of the way if she decided to go with him. He managed to eat the majority of the sandwich and pasta on his plate without looking like a pig about it by the time she gave her answer. He saw her smile, and smiled back. "Really? Great! Do you want to ditch the regular tour all together? I can show you some of the other buildings on our way if you like."
Foster was quite pleased with how this was going. Austin seemed interesting, as well as interested, which was a plus. He was curious as to what type of art she concentrated in, and she still had some bagel left. He wasn't sure if was finished with it yet, so he asked a few more questions. "What kind of art do you like? I'm more of an abstract painter, myself, but I love to draw. Mostly life drawings."
As they talked about art, something suddenly occured to him. How was he going to get her across campus to the art building? It was quite a walk, as the campus was fairly large. He usually just rode over on his motorcycle, but he didn't have a helmut, let alone one for Austin, and he didn't know if she'd get on one. "Oi, I just realized, the walk over to the art building is a bit of a hike. The campus is pretty big, but I usually use my motorbike to get around. Does that bother you? I don't have any helmuts.. too used to riding without them, but we can walk if you'd rather do that instead?"

"I've never ridden a motorcycle before but I've always wanted to," Austin told Foster as she wrapped up her bagel and shoved it in her bag. Then she smiled and got up from her seat and asked, "So you know where the theatre building is? That one and the art building are the two I really want to see. I can get an idea of the rest of campus later, so I really don't need the tour if you can show me around."
Once he was up too, Austin got back onto the subject of what kind of art she liked. "Photography is my main interest, but drawing is right up there too." She would have to remember to show him her portfolio later, it was stashed in her bag just in case the people in the art department wanted to see it, on the off chance they might want to give her a scholarship or something.

Foster smiled, glad that she was eager about getting out and seeing th art and theater buildings. There wasn't too much to the rest of the campus, and it was arranged rather logically with similar subjects being housed either in the same building or in ones near by each other. "Yea, I know where the theater building is. It's not too far from the art building. They keep subjects like that rather close together."
He was also glad to hear she didn't have anything against riding a motorcycle. Though he didn't mind walking, it could be a bit much, and driving was quicker and easier. He'd just have to remember to take it slower that he normally drove, as Austin had never been on one before.
He got up and dealt with his dishes, which were disposable, so he just tossed them in the trash. He smiled as their talk returned to art and he replied as he led her out towards the nearby parking lot. "I could show you one of the photo labs then. One of them should be free this time of day, though I'm not sure if you'd be able to get into the darkroom."
When they came up to his bike he swung his leg over it as usual and steadied it upright, waiting to push the kick-stand up until they were both settled and the engine was started. The bike was rather small, but there was a bit of cusion behind the main seat that allowed for a ride-a-long. He motioned for Austin to sit. "Now, I don't have helmuts, so you'll have to hold on tight. This bike doesn't have a back rest for a passenger, like some larger ones."

As they walked out to where he'd left his motorcycle, Austin just let herself enjoy his company. Sitting down she hadn't realized just how tall he was but walking next to them she had to admit he had almost a foot of height on her. She wasn't short by any means, he was just really really tall. And she had always admired taller men. Then add in his accent, his lovely build and you had a very appetizing package that housed an even more appetizing mind. She was still totally blown away at her sheer luck that he loved art as much as she did.
She was a bit lost in what he was saying and her own thoughts that when he stopped in front of a motorcycle it took her a moment to process that it was -his- motorcycle. The only thing that really gave it away was when he swung his leg over it and settled himself on it. At he sight of him seated on the bike, Austin just smiled. When he told her to get on and hold on tight her smile grew and she nodded with understanding.
Walking to the bike and Foster, Austin placed her hands on his shoulders to steady herself as she swung a leg over as well. Once she was on, she scooted as close to him as she thought was needed and put her arms comfortably around his waist. "Okay, I'm ready," she said as soon as she thought she was seated safely enough. When he let the bike roar to life and he took off she squeeked and tightened her grip on him, her body now pressed right up against his back. He hadn't been kidding when he'd said she should hold on tight!

Foster heard the little squeak from behind him and felt her tighten her grib on him. He laughed lightly, because not only was her noise of surprise cute, but how quickly he had taken off had also caused her to pressed right up against him. He liked that. A lot. He slowed down a bit, trying to make the ride a little bit more comfortable for Austin, and he was also being more cautious with a passenger on his bike.
He hadn't really paid much attention to her height. He never did, really, because he was so tall that most others were significantly shorter than he was anyway. Foster had noticed that she was pretty, beautiful even, and it excited him that she loved art as well. It meant he wouldn't have to worry about filtering what he said in order to keep from gushing about his passion. The ride was relatively short on his bike, and he eased it to a stop carefully, letting Austin get off first before turning off the engine and putting the kick-stand down.
The tour was a short one. Foster showed off the rooms that were empty, but as it was the middle of the day, quite a few were still in use. He managed to get her a glance at the photo studio, as well as the sculpture room and drawing studios. They rounded out their tour in one of the empty painting rooms, the one he normally had his class in. Spending time with Austin seemed to have worked in putting the usual hop back into his step. "Now that you've seen the building we can get on to the real show, eh?" He wiggled his eyebrows a bit, letting himself act the little silly. Why not? He was having fun. He shuffled things around to pull a few canvases out of the tall cubby-hole looking shelves at the back of the room. He finally turned to clue her in on what the 'real show' was about. "Showing off my stuff! I like getting people to look at my paintings, that way I can find out what people think. Which reminds me, you wouldn't happen to have any of your photographs or anything, would ya?"

After the surprising start, the ride across campus was actually a lot of fun. It wasn't long, which Austin was actually a little dissappointed about, and when they arrived at the art building she couldn't help but feel a little giddy. If she got accepted and somehow scrounged up the money, Austin would be spending a lot of time in that building. And, judging by the way the look of the building across the way, that was the theatre building, another place she'd likely be spending a lot of time.
The tour that Foster gave her through the art building was a lot more informative than the one she would have gotten from the formal tour. When they finally came to a painting studio and he pulled out some of his work, Austin smiled at the sight of it. She didn't get long to look though before he asked if she had any of her work on her. With a small nod she reached into her bag and pulled out the big black leatherbound folder that was her portfolio.
When she handed it over, she was blushing a little bit and smiling nerously. "Be gentle," she told him when he took it from her. Once he flipped it open she turned her attention onto his paintings. They weren't of a style that she had any skill with but that didn't mean she couldn't appreciate them. When she came to one in particular that she liked, Austin turned back to Foster. "These are really great Foster. If i had the space I'd beg you for this one but my living arrangements just aren't very spacious."
