Ash isn't one to ever hold a grudge, and knows full well how dangerous his job can be. Though, he can be a bit standoff-ish if someone were to approach him too forcefully. He also has a bit of a quirky sense of humor that leaves him smirking at his own internal jokes that very few others would be able understand. He has the uncanny ability to predict how people will react and what they will do, and he's gained the ability to communicate with others since his voice was taken.

History
Asher is the oldest child of two born into a family of hunters. He can trace the distinguished job os hunting Dark Ones back beyond his great great Grandparents, and didn't think about doing anything else with his life. He went to school, along with his younger sister Bethany, with all of the other kids in his very small South Western town. Once he turned 14 he was pulled out of school and trained to be a hunter like all of the other members of his family before him. He was a quick study and has a very good sixth sense when it comes to finding Dark Ones and feeling out situations.
His father took him out on many jobs, hunting down Dark Ones and honing his skills. Ash's first solo hunting job at the young age of 16, however, went all wrong. The man he was sent to hunt down had been warned of his impending fate and had hired a fellow Dark One that specialized in guarding and defense. This was the first time he has ever crossed paths with Emil, and he totally unprepared for the Angel/Magic user's power and experience. The small man defended his charge well, and was forced to slit Asher's throat when he refused to back down. He thought he had killed the teen and left him where he fell, but Asher barely survived. It took him a long time to make his way back to his family, and the delay in medical care made it impossible to repair the damage that had been done to his voice box, leaving him mute.
Despite his injury, Asher continued to hunt, learning to never underestimate an opponent again and to expect the unexpected. Without his ability to speak, he eventually tapped into his strange sixth sense a bit more, allowing him to convey general feelings, words, and images to others in order to communicate. Ash also honed his ability to read into peoples reactions and fighting capabilities. He became good at what he did, but had no particular problem with Dark Ones. This led him down the path of a Bounty Hunter, only hunting down the Dark Ones he would be getting paid for, but he can still get antsy with a small case of itchy trigger finger when around larger concentrations of Dark Ones or when one intrudes on his personal space.
Eight years after becoming a mute, he ran into Emil again. Once again, the small man was acting as a guard for the mark he had been hired to kill, but unlike last time Asher went in cautious and aware. Also, due to the growing Asher had done since he was 16, Emil didn't recognize him as the boy he had left for dead 8 years earlier. He held no grudge for Emil, so ducked and dodged the man to go right for his mark, managing to get around him and complete his job. He is unaware that it was only time Emil had ever failed in his own job as a guardian, and that the man now holds a rather hefty grudge against him.
