Personality
Sabra may seem easy going and carefree but all of that is a front to hide a very angry and very scared woman. She used to be easy going but the ugly events of her past changed her into what she is now.

History
Born a half-breed foreign bastard, Sabra’s mother abandoned her at birth. She was found by the wife of a small clan and raised to be a servant. Originally named Saburou, she lived and worked in the kitchens of the house that took her in until she was plucked up during a raid by a Roman clan. That clan the first to turn the then 15 year old girl into a consort.

Her first three years as a consort were rough as the clan was new and didn’t follow all the rules. It was then that her name was changed to Sabra. At 18, she was traded to the Magda clan and Thanos, lord of the clan, put his mark on her.

This time, things were different. The Magda clan may have been small and low ranking but the bloodline was ancient and they treated consorts well. Sabra not only got a lady’s education but she was trained in self-defense and several forms of martial arts.

During the first 380 years with the Magda clan, Sabra was only paired up with four people. Two men and two women were granted the privilege of calling her theirs. To these four people, Sabra was friend, lover, helpmate, guardian, companion and nursemaid. She had joyful and fulfilling relationships with those four people.

During this time Sabra also discovered that she had talent in both singing and painting. She enjoyed her life within the walls of the Magda clan. At the start of the fourteenth century, when Sabra was 213, her fourth partner came along. Eve Magda was not only a warrior of the clan but daughter of the clan lord. When Even successfully led her first campaign to victory, Thanos rewarded her by allowing her to select a companion from the single consorts.

Eve wasted no time in selecting Sabra from the available ones. Sabra’s previous partner had passed over a year ago and the two had become friends. And, apparently, Eve was very attracted to Sabra. And, in short order, Sabra felt the same affections for the warrior. Within a few years, the pair went to Eve’s father and requested that Sabra be Eve’s partner permanently. They were soul mates and wishes to be bonded together. Everything about them just clicked and neither would survive separation. Thanos freed Sabra from her chains, though she would keep the title of consort in order to accompany Eve wherever she went.

Up until spring of 1485, things were wonderful. Eve and Sabra were as much in love as ever and were discussing children and who they would ask to be the father when their world ended. Though he’d been forewarned, Lorcaine, Eve’s brother, overthrew their father before Thanos had time to arrange safe havens for the consorts.

One of his first actions was to revoke the freedom granted to the consorts. He claimed all of them as property, even those with special status like Satoshi, Misha, and Nika, of the Magda clan. And he let his men have them. Some, like Ransom’s mate Claudio, died trying to protect their mates. Other’s like Misha’s Tomas managed to restrain themselves with the help of others. Eve was in that second group but she was still a threat to Lorcaine.

Lorcaine commanded her to lead a raid against the powerful DeLorme clan. As Lorcaine hoped, Eve and several others loyal to Thanos died during the attack. Sabra’s soul was shattered and she stopped caring what happened to her because, without Eve, she was nothing.

Lorcaine and his men treated all of the consorts like animals. Often the horses received better care then those 26 men and women. Instead of one partner for multiple years in a caring and meaningful relationship, they were forced to service multiple partners every night. In addition to the near constant rape, the consorts suffered beatings, abuse of all kinds and were forced to perform lewd and humiliating acts. And then, some five years after the over throw, the consorts started disappearing. They weren’t dying but being smuggled out of the house. With the help of the Oshiro and Orlov clans, Redemption Oshiro-Magda was removing the consorts and taking them to safety.

Lorcaine didn’t appreciate this and vowed to hunt down and retrieve his property each time it happened. In the meantime, the conditions for the remaining consorts grew worse. In the three hundred and sixteen years after Eve’s death, Sabra was impregnated twenty times and beaten till her body couldn’t carry the child any longer. A pregnant consort was no use to Lorcaine. After the last beating induced miscarriage, Sabra was finally removed to safety.

She was taken to the Oshiro clan house in Japan to heal, to select a deity and to have a new identity crafted for her. She became Saburou Oshiro and found a place within Ryūjin’s underwater palace to live while working as a guard. But her past followed her to Ryūjin’s palace. Through the deity didn’t care about her past, her fellow guards were interested in the rumors. One day, the mark that indicated she was a former consort was revealed and things turned worse. After several unwanted encounters, she was made a personal attendant to her deity and lived peacefully.

That peace last until 2035, when she was summoned to the visitor’s hall to see Misha, hale and hearty, and telling her that it was time to go home. He said that the rumors were true and Lorcaine was dead. Darius DeLorme, leader of the clan that had absorbed all the Magda holdings, was offering to free the consorts once and for all.

Sabra jumped at the chance to be freed, even if it was by the order of the clan that had killed Eve. She travelled with Misha to the home of Darius DeLorme. There she was greeted by many of the consorts before being taken up to deLorme’s office. There she was pounced on by a smiling Ransom Magda and hugged tightly. She watched and listened as Darius requested permission from Ransom to free Sabra from her chains.

Afterwards she didn’t get the chance to go back to the others. Instead, she was invited by Darius to walk with him. She listened as he told her of Eve’s death. She hadn’t died in battle, as the Magda clan had been told. Eve, along with several others, had been found outside of the south gates, gravely wounded. They’d been brought behind the walls but the wounds were several days old and infection had already settled in. Eve, Darius told her, had died of a fever, cursing Lorcaine’s name while pleading for her mate to be brought to her.

Darius led Sabra deep into the earth while telling her that Eve had been put to rest in a place of honor with all the glories of a clan daughter. He showed her the grave kept in the deLorme family crypt and presented her with Eve’s sword and armor. He left her there to mourn her murdered mated. It was several long hours before Sabra returned to the surface, carrying the sword. She was offered a place in the house for as long she wished. Sabra stayed to catch up with the others and greet the ones who were still arriving.

Her past followed her, though, and people continued to whisper about her past.
