((ooc: this thread takes place 20 some odd years ago when Katsu was 18 and Dion was 16))
Katsu may have been wearing white pants and a thin white shirt but the frisbee was in the water and he was going in after it. He lost one frisbee last week and he wasn't about to loose another. Tossing his sunglasses on a nearby beach towel, Katsu yelled to his friends, "I got it!" then splashed into the water. Once he was up to the middle of his thighs, he dived in. A few hard, strong strokes brought him right to the frisbee just as it was sunk by a wave. Reaching under the water, Katsu snagged it and snickered. "Gotcha," he said triumpantly as he turned and started swimming back to shore.
Emerging from the surf dripping wet, Katsu knew he made quite the sight. Both his pants and shirt clung tightly, his hair was dripping, and when he looked down he realized his shirt was completely see-through and his dragon tattoo on his right shoulder and upper chest was very visible. Shrugging, he pushed his wet hair back off his forhead and out of his eyes, walked over to grab his sunglasses of the beach towel, and lobbed the frisbee back into the air toward one of his buddies.
When the frisbee was finally thrown back to him, Katsu swore. It was three feet over his head and in his human form he couldn't jump high enough to catch it. He glared at the frisbee as it sailed over him and watched as it landed in a puff of sand next to a string of towels with pretty girls perched on all of them.
Looking over his shoulder at his friends, Katsu realized they all had devilish smirks on their faces and he had a sneaky feeling they had planned this while he'd been in the water. Smirking a bit himself, Katsu shrugged and ran over to retrieve his frisbee. He was still damp from his impromptu swim so the sand stuck to the bottoms of his pants and his hand as he gathere'd the frisbee from the ground. When he looked up, he saw that all eyes were on him so Katsu just smiled and said warmly, "Sorry to bother you ladies," then he stood up, turned and ran back to his friends and their game.

Dion looked up when she felt a drop of water hit her skin. Standing over her was a boy, young man really, who was dripping wet, wearing a see-through white t-shirt and a smile. She smiled at him when he left and watched as he tossed the frisbee from friend to friend. When the frisbee once again sailed over his head and landed next to her towel, Dion leaned over and snagged the plastic disc before he could get to it.
When the young man came over to ask for his frisbee, Dion grinned and looked up at him while sliding her sunglasses down her nose. "I'd give it to you but I gotta get something in return. I mean, this is a pretty nice frisbee and it seems a shame to just give it up without getting some kind of reward."
At the catcalls and chuckles of her sisters and friends, Dion looked over her shoulder and scowled at them. When they just snickered at her, Dion turned back to the frisbee owner and smiled at him. "I'd take a phone number and a name. I think thats a fair trade for this very nice frisbee."

After a few more rounds with the frisbee, Katsu was just getting lulled into a sense of security when once again one of his friends tossed it way above him and it sailed over to land near the same string of towels and pretty girls. Not even bothering to glare at his friends, Katsu trotted over to retrieve the plastic disc once more.
This time however, Katsu wasn't able to just grab it and go about his business. One of the girls had grabbed the frisbee and was apparently holding it ransom for his name and phone number. Smiling and shaking his head with amusement, Katsu answered her playfully, "I think its fairly obvious I want that frisbee back considering I jumped into the freezing cold Pacific Ocean fully clothed to get it. I guess that means I better pay the ransom then huh?" At his question, Katsu winked at the girl. Directing his attention to the string of girls, Katsu asked them all, "I don't spose any of you have a pen and paper I can write on do you? I really want my frisbee back and she looks just mean enough to keep it if I don't pay up." While the girls all scrambled looking for something to write on and with, Katsu knelt down next to the girl holding his frisbee and said softly, "My name is Katsu by the way. My family moved her from Japan not long ago." Then with a smirk he added so only the girl could hear, "I think the ransom is a little high though so maybe I could at least get your name to go with the frisbee?"

Dion groaned and looked down at her towel when friends and family scambled to find pen and paper. They'd been setting her up with random guys for the last few weeks and this man was going to be her way out of their ideas of descent men. But that didn't mean they needed to make the situation so obvious by diving for writing materiels. Dion turned to the young man. "Please ignore them. They are just a bit over-enthusiastic," she said when he had about ten pens and five scraps of paper shoved under his nose.
Dion grinned at Katsu, as she now knew the man's name, and patted the bit of brightly covered towel next to her. "Names Dion and I've lived here all my life. Very boring actually." Dion pushed her sunglasses back up her nose and leaned back on her elbows. She was wearing a two peice bathing suit in a bright green color and she knew that her body was best shown off when her tummy could clearly be seen.
"So, Katsu, are you just gonna play frisbee all day or do you have other things planned?"

When she patted the spot next to her on the towel and then leaned back, Katsu had to hold in a groan. She was gorgeous. Instead of oggling her, he grabbed at the nearest pen and paper that were being held out to him then he sat down next to her. He was incredibly glad he had sunglasses on himself or he was sure she'd have seen him constantly looking at her out of the corner of his eye.
Being as distracted by her as he was, it took Katsu a moment to write down his information. When he had, he handed it to her then answered her question. "Well Dion, I figure the guys could manage without me for the day if you're offering your company..." He let his voice trail off, his tone unmistakably hopeful.
As he waited for her answer, Katsu heard a male voice holler his name. Unwillingly, Katsu tore his gaze away from Dion and turned to see his friends gathering up their stuff. Katsu waved goodbye to his friends and turned back to Dion with a huge smile on his face. "Looks like -they- are the ones abandoning -me-. So I guess that means that I really truly do have no other plans for the day." Looking over Dion's shoulder at all the whispering girls, Katsu snickered then whispered, "Wanna get outta here? Go for a walk and get some ice cream maybe?"

Dion watched as the other boys packed up their stuff and she gave them a wave. "I think that I would like a walk and an ice cream. Just gave me one minute." Dion turned around and spoke to the girl on the next towel. She then stood and wiggled into a pair of shorts and a pair of sandles. After that she cleaned up her area, stuffing towel, book, and water bottle into a bag and tossed it at one of her sisters. "Watched that, would you, Rissa. And I'm taking my keys. I don't trust you guys to not strand me here."
Dion stuffed a set of keys into one of the short's pockets and montioned for Katsu to follow her down the sand. "So, Katsu, exactly how old are you? I just have to check, I have to make sure that you're not 26 or something because my dad would then flip that his 16 year old daughter is having ice cream with a 26 year old man."

If he hadn't been trying to keep his cool, Katsu likely would have jumped for joy when Dion agreed to go for a walk with him. Instead he just smiled and nodded when she told him to give her a minute. It didn't take long for her to talk to the group of girls and before he knew it they were walking off down the beach.
When Dion asked exactly how old he was and then went on to explain why she was asking, Katsu couldn't help but laugh. When he answered he had a smirk on his face, "Well your father's sixteen year old daughter is perfectly safe with this eighteen year old guy." She was sixteen?! Wow, she had looked older than that to Katsu but more than likely it was because of the two piece bathing suit.
"So," Katsu started curiously, "since you've lived here all your life and you say this place is boring, what's a guy to do around her on summer break." Then with a smile and a wink he added, "Besides taking a walk and getting some ice cream with a pretty girl that is?"

Dion grinned, arms twisted around behind her back and hands clasped together. "Not much, unless you enjoy the country club party scene. So, you're eighteen? Where do you go to school and how long are you staying here?"
Dion strode right up to the ice cream vendor and ordered a strawberry ice cream cone. She licked at the sweet, cold cream and watched as Katsu ordered his own cone and paid for both. Dion could only smirk at the other girls staring at Katsu. His shirt was still rather transparent and he was a very nice looking man. And he was currently hers.
Dion grinned at Katsu from over the top of her ice cream cone and held out her hand. "Why don't we finish that walk?"

While Dion waited for her ice cream, Katsu answered her, "Well how long I'll be here hasn't been totally decided yet. My family wants to live here but my parents want me to go back to Japan for college. I'd rather stay at least in the US so we're debating where I will be come school time. My parents can be a little too traditional for my tastes sometimes." As he said this last he couldn't help but shake his head at the memory of one particulary animated discussion over his future that he'd had with his father.
Once Dion had her ice cream Katsu ordered his own, pecan praline. Once both of them had their ice cream, Dion held out her hand and suggested they finish their walk. Katso was more than happy to oblige her and he took her hand, twining his fingers with hers as they walked off down the beach farther.

(playing with the timeline. I think that the beach is played out)
Dion stared at herself in the mirror, trying to decide if this top actually went with her pants or not. Nerissa, her twin and roommate, snickered as she watched her sister twist and turn in front of the mirror. "What are you so worried about, Dee, the guy already knows that you look good."
"He's only seen me in a bathsuit and a pair of shorts. He's never seen me dressed yet." Dion sighed and pulled another shirt out of her closet. "What about this one? This one always looks good one me."
"Wear whatever, Dee, just avoid Ellen on your way out. You know how obsessed she is about the way we dress. Something about looking like proper, respectable daughters of Darius. Don't know why."
"Ellen is just a snooty, stuck up woman." When Dion heard a car pull into the driveway, she peered out of her window, which overlooked the driveway, and squealed. "He's here!" Thankful that Darius inisted on living on earth while his girls were growing up, Dion raced out of her room and crossed paths with her father. "Don't you dare scare him. In fact, don't even come downstairs yet. Just stay upstairs until the fourth date, maybe."
Darius frowned at the girl. "And why can't I come down? I gotta make sure that my little girl is going to be safe, don't I?"
Dion raised an eyebrow at her father. "You scared Nessa's date away last night before you don't look even remotely human. Simply put, Dad, you freak people out." And she raced away when the doorbell rang, yelling over her shoulder for Darius to stay put. Dion snuck past Ellen's sitting room and pulled open the front door, grinning at Katsu. "Hi, lets go," she said while scooting out the front door and pulling Katsu back down to his car.

Katsu hadn't spent terribly long getting ready for their date but he still managed to come off looking pretty good. His hair was a bit windblown from having the top on the jeep off, and his black silk button-up shirt was ruffled when he pulled into Dion's driveway. The house was huge and he couldn't help but be a little bit intimidated. Just to be sure, he double checked the address he'd written down against the numbers on the house by the front door. Yep, it was the right house.
Climbing out of his jeep, Katsu made his way up to the front door as quickly as he could. Once he was there he rang the doorbell. He heard raised voices inside and then Dion opened the door and breezed through it basically dragging him back down the driveway tohis jeep.
After they had both gotten in the jeep and he had pulled out of the driveway, Katsu asked, "So are you just eager to see me or should I be scared of your family?" His tone was playful but there was a very real underlying worry. He knew that his parents could be quite intimidating, and was more than a little aware that his mother had scared off a few of his dates in the past. It would be a long time before he took Dion home to meed his parents...

"You should be scared of my family. You should be very scared of my family. My dad is like a big name in...business. Yeah, Business." There was no way that she would reveal just who her father was, or what she was, until, at the very least, the third month of dating. There were just some people who couldn't handle the truth. "My dad, he, uh, holds the reins of several large companies. He's a big wig. And very protective."
Dion leaned against the doorframe of the jeep and held her hair in one hand to keep it from whipping her in the face. She turned to Katsu. "So, what will we be doing tonight/"

Business huh? For some reason Katsu just didn't quite buy the fact that Dion's father was in business. That monstrous house made it quite clear that he was either from family money or some drug lord or something. Okay, maybe he was exagerating on the drug lord thing but still, it wasn't a normal house even for a very very successful businessman.
When Dion asked him what they would be doing that night, Katsu smiled with mischief and he answered, "Well, I've got a few choices for you. We can either go grab some sushi, or some other light appetizers and then go for a sunset dinner sail, or we can catch a movie and then have dinner afterwords. Your choice though." The last he said with an encouraging smile. He honestly hoped she would pick the sunset sail but if she got seasick that probably wouldn't be good and that's why he'd come up with a plan B.

Dion jumped at the offer of a movie and dinner. It seemed like such a normal thing to do. Dion didn't get a whole lot of normal in her life. Her father owned a yacht and she had enought of being on the water. Granted, sunning on the deck was always fun but she wanted to do something normal.
As they drove to the theater, Dion looked at Katsu. "So, what do you do for a living?" she wanted to know. Katsu was normal compared to most of the guys she saw. Thanks to Ellen, She'd been paraded around in front of plenty of male Custoss, all of them vying for a chance to get a Custos lord's daughter.

When she seemed so happy with the movie and dinner option, Katsu couldn't even find it in him to be a little dissappointed. He redirected the car from the marina toward the movie theater when she asked what he did for a living. Wrinkling his nose in mild distaste he answered, "I am currently a junior associate in my family's business. Its an investment company run by my uncle and while I may be good with numbers I hate suits with a passion and I'm not looking forward to a lifetime of wearing them."
They had finally arrived at the theater and finding parking was a breeze considering most movie-goers would be seeing later showings. Once he'd gotten a nice close spot, Katsu put his jeep in park and hopped out to go open Dion's door for her. If he couldn't do the romantic dinner sail, he was at least going to be as much of a gentleman as she'd allow him to be.
