Lysander couldn't help but frown when Dominic climbed back into bed after setting the alarm. The man was huddled, with his back to Lysander, on the far edge of the mattress. Lysander had a good idea what was running through Dominic's head. He was probably thinking about that ex-wife of his and that just wouldn't do while he was in Dominic's bed.
"Dominic, pet, this is only a double bed. It's a little silly to try and save space when there is no space to save. We're both big men and your attempt at hiding from me isn't working. I know what you are thinking." Lysander turned onto his side and pulled Dominic, resisting or not, against his body, cooing at him when he felt the shaking. "I know what you are thinking and I want you to stop. She left you for another man."
Lysander wrapped one arm around Dominic's waist, letting his hand rub circles around his chest. "Her reasoning may have been sound, we've already gone over that point, but the fact remains that she left you. It will hurt for a long while yet and you will still think abouth er but really, Dominic, it is extemely uncouth of you to be thinking about another woman while I'm in your bed."
Lysander pressed the full length of his body against Dominic, just to remind him of who was sleeping next to him. "If I have to I will distract you. Remember out earlier distraction? I'm sure that this one would turn out much different, seeing as how are now in a bed." Lysander said while nipping at Dominic's ear.

Lysander's words, every last one of them, set off alarms in his head. That is, until Lysander threatened to 'distract' him again... He'd needed a very cold shower after the last distraction and Dominic was afraid that L would be right and things would go a lot farther this time considering they were already in bed. Swallowing his pride and hurt feelings Dominic just muttered grumpily, "Its not like I have a switch in my head L, I can't just tune her out you know. Maybe if we didn't have a daughter together it'd be easier to do that but the fact is we do. And don't you think I know its not right for me to think of her when you're here? That's part of what's bothering me, I want to give you a shot but she won't get the fuck out of my head!"
As he'd spoken, Dominic's temper had risen and his words, along with his body, had gotten rather heated. He hadn't meant to get so upset, in fact he'd thought he had himself under control, but when he felt L flinch Dominic realized he'd nearly cooked the other man. Immediately he got at least his body temperature under control. His temper was still another story.
Not wanting L to think he was mad at him, Dominic grumbled out, "I'm not mad at you L, I'm just frustrated that this is getting to me right now. All I wanted was a nice nap with you to cuddle with and it doesn't look like that's going to happen because of my fucking emotional baggage..." Then with a lot less grumble to his tone, Dominic concluded, "I'm really sorry."

"You're not the only one with emotional baggage, Dominic. I do come with my own horrid past and I still haven't gotten that out of my head." Lysander somehow managed to get Dominic turned around so that the man faced him. "It's not about getting her out of your head or forgetting completely about her, it's about learning to live with it."
Lysander brought a hand up and stroked the side of Dominic's face. "It will be hard. It will be god-awful hard and there will be days when you want to kill yourself because you thought you had something and it turns out that something wasn't as precious as you thought it was. But the fact is that you do have a daughter, a five month old daughter that I have yet to meet and I still want to, with this woman. Forgetting about her will be impossible."
Lysander scooted just a little closer and leaned his forehead down against Dominic's. "You can't forget her, you won't forget her, but she'll take a lesser stance in your mind as the years go by. No one is expecting you to forget abour your marriage so soon. Now, Puppy, I want you to relax and take a nice nap."

When L turned him around to face him, Dominic gave in almost willingly. Once he was facing the other man, all the ridgity slipped right out of him. He couldn't help but wiggle a little closer and without knowing it, his hands clenched in L's t-shirt as the other man talked. L was right, he would never forget Saiyuri and heaven only knew, he could never forget Lani. When L told him to relax and take a nice nap, Dominic sighed but tried to force himself to relax.
*****
Perfectly comfortable, Dominic groaned when the alarm went off. He didn't even remember falling asleep yet his damn alarm was shrieking at him. Once the haze of sleep wore off a little more, Dominic realized that he had an arm and a leg draped across L. Carefully he moved away from the man and went and flipped his alarm off.
Walking into the bathroom, Dominic was a bit surprised to see a smile plastered on his lips. Just having L near him was calming and made him happy, he couldn't imagine what he would ever do if L left him... Getting ready for work involved brushing his teeth and making sure his hair didn't look too slept on. When he was satisfied with everything, Dominic went back to his bedroom and pulled a pair of jeans and a hooded sweatshirt with the Inn's logo on it out of a drawer and began to change. L was still sleeping so he wasn't at all self conscious. Only when he was dressed, with the exception of his shoes, did Dominic go and wake up L. Leaning in, he placed a gentle kiss on L's cheek and then said softly in his ear, "Wake up if you still want to go with me."

Lysander mumbled as he felt something brush over his cheek and reached a hand up to bat it away, sure that it was Crystal's damn fluffy kitten...again. When he heard someone speaking, though, He rolled over and opened one eye. He found himself peering up at Dominic. "Is it time to get up already?" L groaned and rolled back onto his side. "You go ahead without me. I'll show up in a little while."
L burrowed back into the warm spot left by Dominic and hauled the covers up over his head. When he did manage to crawl out of bed, it was past midnight. L shuffled into a pair of jeans and one of the thick, fisherman's sweaters he'd brought with him and headed for the door. He stopped by his car and pulled out the case that held his laptop. If anything, he could get some work on that new paper done tonight.
Once he arrived at Inn and looked at Dominic. "So, why don't you show me around," he said while leaning against the front counter.
***
L tapped his fingers against his thigh, waiting for Dominic to pick up the phone. He thought it a good idea to call the man before the plane landed in Japan but that plane wouldn't work if Dominic didn't pick up his gods-be-damned phone.
"Finally, Dominic," he said when the man answered. "I don't have much time, pet. I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be gone for a while, a month at the very least."
L leaned back in the stiff, airport chair and sighed. "Japan, Dominic, for the museum. A whole cache of artifacts was discovered this week. I'm one of the foremost experts in the time period. Even if I wasn't going for the museum, I'd still be invited over and I would probably go. I don't really have much of a choice in the matter."
L raised an eyebrow as passengers started to board the plane. "I gotta go, Love, plane is boarding. I'll call you later, Dominic. Don't turn your phone off."
Once L was plopped down in his first class seat, he looked out the oval window at the early evening activity of the tarmac. This trip, his absence, would give Dominic a chance to get himself sorted out. Dominic's divorce was still fresh, the papers have only been signed a week ago, and the specter of Saiyuri haunted whatever they had together. He'd never met the woman and, while he sympathized with her, he hated her for putting a nice guy like Dominic through this sort of hell.

L had gone back to his own house that morning and Dominic was still a bit dazed from having another man living with him all week. He had never eaten so well that's for sure. Even though his mother was a good cook and his ex-wife wasn't bad, L was just amazing. Plus there was the whole having good company thing. They'd watched lots of movies, spent lots of time talking, and even just sat together reading at times. It had just been incredibly pleasant.
He had the day off from work and was playing around in the garage under his apartment with a new idea that had popped into his head and he had the music blaring. When his phone rang, it vibrated in his back pocket and scared him so that he jumped and dropped what he'd been working on. Muttering, Dominic turned off the music then yanked his phone out of his pocket.
The smile that he had gotten when he saw who was calling quickly crumbled and he nearly dropped the phone. Lysander was going to Japan. For at least a month. And he was already at the airport so Dominic couldn't even say goodbye. When L hung up his end of the phone abruptly to go board the plane, Dominic just stared at his phone with a very confused look on his face.
*****
So far it had been a very long two months. The first few weeks had been the worst while Dominic adjusted to not having L around anymore. After that things weren't so hard, time just passed extremely slowly.
Dominic had taken to spending a great deal of time at Saiyuri's mother's house when he wasn't working because it gave him time to spend with his daughter. Lani may have only been seven and a half months old according to the calendar but thanks to her very mixed heritage, she was developed to almost the age of two years old. She was cute and quite the handful and she was eventually what had brought him out of his funk when L left.
Working the overnight shift at the Inn gave Dominic lots of time to kill so he wound up sending lots of pictures of Lani, and some of himself and Lani, to L via email. He was actually composing just such an email when his phone beeped indicating he had a text message. Curious, he flipped it open to read the message and smiled. The message was from L and it said that he had a delivery.
More than a little confused, Dominic first checked his email and when he saw nothing he texted back and asked where the delivery had been sent to. After a moment, the message came back and it said the delivery had gone to the Inn. Now Dominic was really confused. He went back into the back office and checked but there were no packages back there for him. Then, just on a whim since he came in the side door, Dominic went to check the front door.
When he opened the front door he didn't see anything and he got even more confused. Dominic was just about to send back another message to tell L that nothing was there when he heard a noise off to his left. Squinting into the dark, Dominic didn't see anything so he just assumed it was one of the resident raccoons and he turned to go back inside.

He couldn't stand it anymore. Two months away and he was going crazy. He'd left tonight, in the middle of a project, because he was completely unable to handle being away any longer. The letters and e-mails hadn't been enough. The long telephone coversations, to the point where he'd flipped his cell over to the speaker function so he could talk to Dominic while he worked, hadn't been enough. He wanted to hold the younger man while he talked.
He'd spent the flight over the pacific flipping through the series of photographs Dominic had sent him. Going so far as to say the little girl was his, in a way, as her father was his partner. The grandmother sitting next to him had just cooed at the baby and gone back to her knitting. Now, as he sat in the shadows of the Inn's porch and texted Dominic, L squirmed. He wanted to be in there, wrapped around Dominic, but he couldn't resist a little teasing. When the man finally opening the front door and peered around, L couldn't resist his natural urges to pounce the man any longer. "You look good, Dominic." he said before pouncing.
He didn't really give the other man a chance to react, he just spun Dominic around, backed him against the nearest wall and sealed his mouth over the younger man's. L braced one around against the wall and used the other to hold Dominic against his body. Once he managed to back away, L pressed his forehead against Dominic's and stared into violet eyes. "I've obviously missed you. Have you missed me?"
After asking his question L swooped down for another kiss, never really giving Dominic a chance to answer. "Mine" he growled as he lipped at Dominic's lips.

That voice! Finally hearing it in person rather than over the phone was one of Dominic's reccuring dreams of late and to have it come true with no warning was the best possible variation of that dream. Those four little words were the only warning Dominic had before he got pounced, for lack of a better word, and Dominic didn't mind one damn bit.
Feeling his back slam into the wall between the lobby and the library, Dominic immediately snaked his arms around the other man's torso and pulled him close. The kiss, while somewhat expected, was a pleasant surprise. Dominic hadn't expected it to be so intense but he responded in kind. One of his hands gripped at the back of L's t-shirt and the other was tangled in his hair at the nape of his neck, holding the older man to him.
When L pulled away momentarily and asked if Dominic had missed him, Dominic was about to answer with a resounding "YES!" but in an instant L was kissing him again. When L growled possesively, Dominic smirked and answered just as possesively, "Of course."
Then, with no warning, Dominic shoved away from the wall. He never let go of L but redirected them into the room he had been in when he'd gotten the first text message. Pushing L in ahead of him, Dominic swung the door shut with his foot then followed L the rest of the way into the room. He finally let go of L but only to shove him onto the nearest couch then he did the pouncing.
Straddling the other man's legs as he lay sprawled on the couch, Dominic pinned L by putting his hand on L's shoulders. Once L was good and pinned Dominic answered his earlier question with a question of his own, "Aren't you glad the Inn is empty tonight?" Then he leaned in and kissed L just as intensly as the older man had done to him before.

L smirked up at the man straddling him. It appeared that his two month long absence had affected Dominic just as much as him. Lysander rested his against Dominic's knees, peering at him. "So, Love, now that you've got me here, what are you going to do with me?" He asked while sliding his hands up Dominic's thighs.
Lysander hooked his fingers through the belt loops of Dominic's jeans and yanked, bringing the pale blond into close contact with the lower half of his body. "I've been a very good boy these last two months and it wasn't due to a lack of propositions. What about you, Dominic, have you been a good boy? I certainly hope you've been a good boy because being a good boy has been killing me."
Lysander lifted one hand and wrapped it around Dominic's neck, pulling his head down for another kiss. This one was different from the others they had shared. It started of slow and sweet but, as Lysander's hands drifted to Dominic's lower back, his fingers slipping under sweatshirt and t-shirt to stroke heated skin and flirt with the hem of Dominic's jeans, the kiss grew into something familiar. Lysander reclaiming Dominic as his own.
Lysander twisted around, somehow, so that Dominic was the one with his back pressed into the seat of the couch and he was the one doing doing the straddling. Lysander backed away, sitting back on his heels. "Yes, to answer your question, I'm extremely glad that the Inn is completely empty tonight. Since the Inn is empty tonight, we don't we..." Lysander bent over, nipping at Dominic's mouth, "go somewhere else?"
Lysander leaned forward, boxing his arms around Dominic's head, his hair slipping over his shoulder to block their faces from view. "We could..." Lysander paused to nip at Dominic's mouth, "say, take advantage of one those..." he nipped again, soothing the abused lip with his tongue, "empty beds upstairs or we could..." he shifted, running a hand down the length of Dominic's body, "go visit your apartment. You don't have to stay here, do you?"
Lysander kissed him again, balanced as he was on one elbow and two knees. His free hand was holding onto Dominic's hip. "Missed you so goddamn much. Nearly killed me just to be away from you. Won't leave you again. You're mine and no one else's. Not that woman's, mine. You belong to me," he growled out before sealing his mouth over Dominic's once again.

Dominic wasn't sure just when he wound up as the one being straddled but the tiny twinge of fear quickly dissappeared as L's hands started wandering and he started nipping at his lip. L had gotten him so worked up that Dominic could barely comprehend just what L was saying about taking advantage of empty beds or going back to his apartment. He would have tried to answer but L kept talking, his tone and words very possesive, and then once again L was kissing him.
After a few moments of giving in to his body and L's, Dominic managed to push the older vampire off of him just far enough to squeak out, "My apartment please!" Then totally contrary to what he'd just said, Dominic pulled L back to him, his hands boldly slipping under L's tshirt, letting his fingers trail over the muscles in his back and on his chest and stomach. So very different form everything he'd ever known but just as wonderful!

Lysander groaned. There were fingers and hands running over his back and front. After indulging in Dominic's enjoyment of their current situation, L pulled back, sucking in air. "We need to breathe and then we need to go back to your apartment, where we can finish this. And finish it we will."
Lysander back and just stared down at Dominic, who looked very decedent at the moment. All flushed skin, panting breaths and bruised lips. "You look beautiful," he all be purred and then patted Dominic's leg. "Go, take care of whatever you need to do so that we can get out of here. I'll be right here, waiting and thinking of you."
Once Dominic had left the Inn's library to go take care of whatever, Lysander stretched out on the couch. That had been...intense. He hadn't expected to have that kind of reaction to Dominic or for Dominic to respond like that. As he lay, stretched out on the couch, L could feel the day starting to catch up with him. He fought it back, wanting to know just what would happen with Dominic at his apartment, where there was a bed...and another couch...and a certain sense of privacy. He had, however, been up for who knew how long. He'd been up since five in the morning, Japan time and it was past three at the Inn. Not to mention the ungodly long plane ride in coach seating.
L flopped an arm over his eyes, intent on resting his eyes for just a moment. It didn't take long for resting to become completely zonked out on the couch.

His heart was racing and when L pulled away and stayed away, Dominic practically whimpered at the loss. When L explained why he had pulled away Dominic had to take a deep breath and even still he didn't trust his voice so he just nodded.
Being called beautiful was a bit of a shocker but Dominic didn't let it worry him. He was beyond that, at least at the moment, so there was no point spazzing over what another man thought and said about him. Having his leg patted and then being shooed off to go close up was another shocker, not because of what L did though, but because of what he did. He scrambled out from under L, over the back of the couch, and out to the lobby and the office.
After he had turned off the computers and made sure all the doors were locked upstairs and in the restaurant, Dominic made his way back through the lobby to snag his keys off the front desk, locked the front and back door, then wandered into the library to gather up L and his laptop which was still sitting on the other couch. He saw L laying sprawled on the couch he'd left him sitting on and when he heard the other man's deep breathing he knew that L had fallen asleep waiting for him.
Laughing softly, Dominic mumbled, "You party pooper," then he went and packed up his laptop and slung the bag over his shoulder. Once he had all his stuff ready to go, Dominic made his way back over to the couch L was laying on and gently and effortlessly lifted him off of it. He had never been so grateful for the extra strength that being a vampire gave him. Carefully and quietly he manuevered them through the library doors onto the deck then he started the short walk home to his apartment. It was only a little chilly out so Dominic just had to keep his body temperature elevated a bit so Lysander wouldn't wake from the cold.
In no time at all, Dominic was in his bedroom closing the door behind him and laying L on his bed. He carefully stripped the man of everything but his boxers and then pulled the covers up over him. Then he quickly slipped out of his work clothes and threw on a pair of pajama bottoms but no shirt. It had been too long since L had left and he wanted to feel him as he slept. When he crawled into bed and snuggled up to L, Dominic whispered fiercely, "I'm so glad you're home!" Then he feathered a few gentle kisses on L's cheek, neck and shoulder before drifting off to sleep himself. For the first time in over two months, Dominic slept soundly through the night.

When Lysander woke up the next morning he noticed four things in rapid succession. He wasn't in Japan, he was warm, he was nearly naked, and he had a Dominic wrapped around his body. And then he remembered the night before. At the Inn. On the couch. A extremely willing Dominic. And he'd fallen asleep like an idiot.
If he could have gotten an arm free right then from Dominic's vise-like grip he would have used the heel of his right hand to smack his forehead. "Went and fell asleep like a small child. Great, L, way to impress the man."
After squirming out of bed, Lysander perched himself on the edge of the mattress and watched Dominic sleep. Such a sweet man, willing to carry him (how else would he have gotten here?) back to the apartment after falling asleep. When the knocking started, L narrowed his eyes and glared at the door before glancing at the alarm clock. Nine in the morning.
The knocking grew somewhat frantic and, as Dominic had yet to introduce him to anyone but Carole, L nudged at Dominic's shoulder. "Hey, wake up, there's someone at your door."

He refused to wake up. Yet whoever was determined towake him kept shaking him! Damnit all! Grumbling and groaning, Dominic rolled onto his back and pried his sleepy eyes open. Once the blur cleared up, Dominic looked at the alarm clock across the room to see what time it was and he wanted to scream. Since when was nine in the morning an acceptable time to go pounding on somebody's front door?!
Growling as he sat up, it took Dominic a moment to remember he wasn't alone. Once he did, he whipped his head to the side and saw a somewhat anxious looking L sitting on his bed. And he was topless. It took another moment for Dominic to remember just why L was in his apartment at all and not in Japan, let alone why he was in nothing more than his boxers.
He was about to greet the man good morning when the pounding started again and at the top of his lungs Dominic bellowed unhappily, "I'm coming! Just stop with the pounding!" Then he slipped off the bed and ran to the front door. Flinging it open he growled out a none-to-pleasant "What?!" before realizing it was his uncle standing outside. More than a little embarrassed for his temper, Dominic apologized to the older man, "Sorry Uncle Donovan, i thought you might have been somebody else..."

Donovan looked at his nephew with a raised eyebrow. The boy had always been on the odd side but lately, if his recent behavior of scaring the guests by just staring at weeds was any indication, Dominic had been acting stranger then normal. "I'm just here about you leaving the desk last night. I just wanted to know if everything was okay? You rarely leave the desk and it was a shock to the morning person. I just gotta say that it was a good idea to give each desk clerk a front door key."
Donovan look at his nephew and then looked around him, trying to see if there was anyone else in the room. "So, everything is okay, isn't it?" ---- Lysander, during the time it took Dominic to take care of whoever was at the door, sprawled across the bed. When Dominic finally returned and leaned against the door frame, Lysander crooked a finger at him. "Come here. We need to talk."
Once Dominic was comfortably situated, snuggled up against him, Lysander nuzzled his neck and looked down at him. "So, what was last night all about? Will we be having a repeat event of that? And what does last night mean for us, Dominic? Because you must relize that I'm not about to let you back away from anything now...if being pushed down on the couch and straddled is any clue...because I think that you want me."

When his uncle finally explained why he'd come pounding on the door so early, Dominic stepped the rest of the way through the door and closed it most of the way behind him. The last thing he needed was for his uncle to see any possible stray anything that would let him know that Dominic had another man in his apartment.
As Donovan finished talking, explaining really, and asked if everything was okay, Dominic nodded and as casually as he could manage, leaned into the other man's line of sight into the apartment. He really hoped L had stayed in the bedroom. When Donovan finally seemed to give up, Dominic smiled and answered, "I promise that everything is okay. I just had some stuff I needed to deal with last night is all and since there were no guests I didn't figure it mattered if I left. I didn't mean to scare anybody. Tell Claudia I'm sorry okay?" This last was said in reference to the lady who was supposed to have been his morning relief.
It only took a few more minutes of casual chatting before Donovan appeared to be satisfied with his nephew's reasoning for leaving the desk. Finally, he gave Dominic a hug and then made his way slowly back over to the Inn, likely to go get brunch started for the walk-in guests that came just for the restaurant.
As soon as Dominic was certain his uncle wasn't going to turn around and come back to pesker him some more, he slipped back into his apartment and shut and locked the door behind him. As he walked back to the bedroom, Dominic ran his fingers through his hair and mumbled to nobody, "Holy hell... that was awkward."
It didn't take Dominic more than a few short moments before he reached the bedroom door and he leaned casually against the frame of the door and waited to see what L would have to say. When the older vampire crooked his finger at him, Dominic obediently made his way to the bed, crawled in, and snuggled up close.
Lysander's words were expected but that didn't mean that Dominic had any better of an idea of how to answer the questions. After a few moments of laying cuddled up with L, Dominic was finally able to muster some semblance of an answer, how satisfactory it would be to L he had no idea though.... Looking up into the older vampire's eyes, Dominic started off simply, "I missed you. The surprise you gave me last night caught me off guard and I acted before I could think. Now that the surprise has worn off a bit my brain seems to be back in some sort of working order and even though last night what I did was perfectly fine at the time, its now telling me I was crazy." Then, with a laugh at himself more than anything he added, "Of course, my brain tells me I'm crazy on a regular basis so why should I trust it?" He wasn't sure how much sense he was making but Dominic figured he should at least try and make his point. If L hadn any questions he could ask them later. "So, basing my logic on the fact that my brain is a mutinous traitor I'm going to go against what my brain is telling me not to say and tell you anyway. Yes Lysander, I want you. If you leave me again you should probably expect to have my follow you or stow away in your suitcase. Having you gone was torture for me. I hadn't realized just how important you had become to me, and I'm still not sure I completely grasp that, but I don't want to have to live without you again."
Shit. He'd just spilled everything. At least everything he knew that is.... Dominic's brain was indeed yelling at him that he was a fool for admitting to another man in some roundabout way that he had feelings for him. In the silence that followed his declaration of his thoughts and feelings, Dominic realized he was breathing quite heavy, likely with nerves, and consciously slowed it down to a more reasonable pace.

Lysander's first response, after several minutes of stunned silence, was to laugh. When Dominic scowled at him, L waved his hand. "Not laughing at you, Pet, just laughing at your way of explaining your difference between head and heart. Mutinous traitor?"
Lysander rested his chin against Dominic's shoulder. "Glad to hear you say that, because you are important to me, as well. After the first few weeks, I hated my time over there. Mind you, there were times when I was buried in my work and the only that existed was the object in front of me but whenthat was done, you were back on my mind. Next time I have to go somewhere, expected to either be dragged along or to be flown over the weekend or something."
Lysander pulled the both of them down and dragged the covers back up. "Now, it's time to go back to bed and you can let your mutinous traitor of a brain turn off." Lysander looped an arm around Dominic's waist and pulled him in close. "Hmm...my warm vampire," he muttered before drifting off.

Having Lysander resting his chin on his shoulder made Dominic feel safe in announcing his feelings, especially after L's initial laughing response... Being told that he was important to L too was a huge relief for the younger vampire. If he had been the only one with that sort of feelings he would have been worried. Sure he knew L wanted him but there was the physical wanting and then there was the emotional wanting and they didn't necessarily always go hand in hand.
When he was suddenly pulled back down into bed and wound up with L wrapped around him, Dominic couldn't help but smile. When the older man muttered about Dominic being his warm vampire it took all Dominic's will power not to snicker. As he drifted off to sleep, his hand found its way to L's where it was laying on his stomach and his fingers twined themselves with Lysander's.

When Lysander woke up, he had a Dominic wrapped around his body. Feeling the urgent need to visit the bathroom, he carefully untangled himself from the man and eased off the bed. He groaned when he caught sight of the alarm clock, it was after one in the afternoon. After using the bathroom, L wandered out to the kitchen, eager to find caffine and some decent food.
He'd already taken his cooking supplies back to his storage unit but he was hungrey enough to use Dominic's sub-standard pots and pans. After gather the ingredients for a loaded omelet, L cooking with one hand while fiddling with Dominic's coffee maker with the other. After making the food, he dished up the two omlets, placed them on a large platter, the closet thing Dominic had to a serving tray, along with two cups of premimum coffee, and went into the bedroom.
"Hey, Sleepyhead. Wake up," he said and nudged Dominic's behind with his foot. "We seriously need to get a bigger bed. This thing is not condusive to breakfast, or rather brunch, in bed." Lysander set the platter on the bed and nudged Dominic again. "Come on, get up otherwise I'm gonna eat your omelet."

Dominic felt L extract himself from the bed, likely to go to the bathroom, and thinking he would come right back the younger vampire let himself fall back asleep. Because of this, Dominic wasn't sure just how long it had been by the time L came back and nudged him and told him to wake up. Groaning in protest, he made to cover his head with the blanket. Until that is, L mentioned omlets.
Opening his eyes and sitting up quickly, Dominic blinked his eyes to get the sleep out of them as best he could while reaching for a plate. He had learned a while ago, never to turn down Lysander's cooking no matter what it was. Even if it was something he normally hated, like fish, he would likely love it once it was cooked by Lysander. Luckily, since he already liked omlets, these would probably be the best he'd ever had.
Just as he was bringing the first forkful to his mouth, Dominic smelled coffee and he looked up eagerly trying to find it. Last night, and that morning actually, had been very emotionally charged and if he was going to make it through the day he was probably going to need a whole pot of coffee all to himself... When he saw where the coffee had ended up he snagged a mug, smiled at L for his stroke of brilliance, said a cheerful "thank you" then he dug into his breakfast with a vengeance.
